The night shift lead is taking a pay cut and demotion to move to second shift, night's are kicking his ass. This is met with cheers from the rest of the shift.

Question is who will they make the lead? I was a quasi-lead basically had the role without the title before they made a formal lead position but I didn't get it when I applied for the lead last February; the manager hired the current guy who was someone he worked with at another company.

Of the people on shift there's me and one other guy who would be possible candidates. I'm not sure I'd take it if they offered it to me and the other guy is super young with only 2 years of experience in the field. The lead is a full management position with six direct reports on the org chart.

I doubt the manager will offer it to me, even moreso when they hear what my salary requirement is :p. In all honestly I'm trying to move to day shift to be able to be rested again.

Thinking of maybe putting in for an emergency shift change to 2nd's.
I liked it when I worked up north before I moved to SC. idk.

I'd be all over seconds (for us that's 4p-1a) lets me still sleep at night but avoids most of the drama and political crap of day shift. Second shift also gives a 10% shift diff which is still pretty nice for being able to sleep during the night. Third shift is +15%.

But I'm dating again so having weeknights free would help that.

Pretty easy. You just let them know you have something going on. IE....kids in school, classes, family leave, etc. Get swithed to another shift.
I would do 1sts except 2nd and 3rd's pay me 10% and I would lose a shitload. And i', a night owl anyway.

On swings I never felt I had much time to do stuff on work days. Couldn't go straight to sleep when I got off, so stayed up a bit, then slept into late morning. By the time I got up, it just seemed time for work came up quick. :notsure:

I can do it (doing so now), just my moose man fingers make it awkward.

On my way into work now...catch ya'll in a bit.
