What is the difficulty level of changing out the alternator on the 2nd Gen tacoma?

 

Haven't done it on a 2nd gen yet. But I would imagine with a spare set of hands to help with the tension onbthe belt that would probably be the most difficult part in my mind. Just trying to thread it while letting tension off etc. But like I said I haven't done it before.

So, are there 515k miles or 51k miles?

 

It could be a great start to ANOTHER project.

The buggy is 13' overall, so a nice low dovetailed flatbed would be easy. Should be able to get the engine past the rear axle. Sell off some of the pumping stuff and tank could almost cover the original purchase.

But more length and wheelbase would be nice for hauling other/longer vehicles when needed. And enough towing capacity for a medium sized camper trailer for the long weekends.

I used to have a family friend that had his own professional service but he retired sometime last year otherwise I would have sent you his way.

My truck came tinted now so I haven't given it much thought as to a quality place that does it.
