Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    HAHAHAHHA

    YES!! +100

And most people don't buy a Tacoma as a tow vehicle. I did, but people look at me funny when I tow more than they do in their full size. I have been told many times my truck could not do that or I should buy a Full size because the baby Tacoma can not.

I would BET that I have towed more often and more weight than the majority of large truck owners. I have never had any serious problems related from towing.

    Its called thinking. :D
There are reliability issues with Domestic vehicles, but its not clear cut as many think. That is why there are people who drive nothing but GM and swear they have never gotten break down.
Yes if somebody buys HD3500 and all he does is grocery shopping than properly maintained vehicle will last pretty much forever.

    on the opposite spectrum

You can maintain your Tacoma in New England like Ferrari dealer but frame still going to rust from under you.
    :D

    Knowing why difference requires thinking...
    Try it.

In another thread you stated the Tacoma has a weaker frame for 2016 because it "shaved some weight" and your drooling over Ford. So tell me with your same logic is the new F150 frame weaker now that it shaved up to 700lbs??? Yea you should try thinking what you say before calling someone out to think. Think about it ;)

Apparently that was the problem... I had a 2003 2500hd that I hauled groceries and pulled a 6500lb boat 6x a year and it was a POS!!! The list was endless and it was AMAZINGLY NOT UNDER WARRANTY!!! After 160k I finally gave up and went tundra. If only I had gone 3500hd, it would have been a good truck!

So by the current logic from that list I can conclude that the Dodge Dakota is the most likely vehicle to be used like a truck and that's the reason is the least reliable. I call bullshit on your thinking sir.

Setting your logic aside and using personal experience from mine and done other tundra owners I know leads me to believe they are reliable because they are well built vehicles not because they are not used like trucks.

Comparing a truck thats been out since 05 to a brand new model? Are you kidding me? How dumb can you be to not expect the GM sales figures to be lower? Wow...

Please explain how my observation of Tundras not towing get turned into making excuses for the American Big-3. I'm curious to find out how your brain is wired, because I doubt it matches the Chilton.

If you're going to quote me, please use it in proper context.

What were the sales numbers of the 2005 Tacoma when it came out for a fair comparison?

Our observations are very different. While I don't see tundras being used commercially I see lots of them towing very large campers. Conversely I see lots of ford and chevy deisels at the mall with no load in the bed.

    Haynes has better pictures :)

Fact is, most trucks are not used to capacity. That's not just Tundra and Tacoma, I see more daily driven F250 and F350 trucks, that are not used to tow ever than trucks that are.

Many people like saying my truck can do this, or my truck can do that. Those same people don't care that they will never do that, or even if the truck actually could.

I myself own a Tacoma, because I like it. And despite what lots of people tell me it can do everything I need it to do!

No again, there are problems with Domestic quality, some models are more than others. All I am saying its not clear cut or as simple as that graph shows.
Also if you look who would be statistical buyer of Dodge Dakota (small super cheap truck)

You quickly realize that maintenance work will be sub par if anything not to mention truck is going to be beaten on poor roads. Hence statistically you should expect more failures.

Ok then. How about this. I do my own maintenance on all my vehicles. I owned a Dakota. It was never used for towing and it was never offroad and never hauled anything but groceries. It was the biggest pile of crap I ever owned. I spent a lot of time and money repairing a truck with less than 80,000 miles on it. My tundra on the other hand has hauled everything from firewood to camping gear to a few 2400 lb loads of gravel. It gets driven on the beach and in the mountains. It's been the best vehicle I've ever owned. I've put 225,000 miles on it and it's repairs amount to one frozen caliper. I'll still say the graph it's not skewed nearly as much as you think it is.

Safe to say it already is a failed experiment. When the outgoing model of the Tacoma is crushing the new Colorado, its time to give it up.
IMO, a large part of it is the reputation of the old Colorado. It was junk, plain and simple. One of my ex girlfriends had one and the engine blew after 20,000 miles.
