Here is my contribution not for every buddy but I love the extra sealed storage they add, 2 bolts each with washes that fit in the bed rails some nuts and a drill took me all of about 20 min for both.

Looks pretty interesting. I think cool, but where'd you get those ammo boxes?

What size are those? I've been thinking of mounting some hinges and doing a swing out ammo can.

I'll measure em up after work for yeah.

Where they are mounted right now is just temporary, they work well where they are, but they do sometimes get in the way when I'm using the Box for hauling stuff. I'm just not sure where else I'm gonna put them. I would like to put a propane stove in the tail gate with a cover on it, and have a sloped rear cover similar to the to green polar edition Tacoma down in Texas just without the fuel cells and have it a little more functional for tail gate camping, just not sure how I'm gonna do it just yet.

    Stock for now...
If you put much weight in them they will likely tear out the bed rail - put a spacer behind them with a rubber bumper to go against the bed so they don't rock around .

BRAND SPANKIN NEW... Came in from Houston and I had already told the salesman what I wanted (back in 08) told him when he had one that matched the one I built on their site, call me and I'd sign for it.

3 months later, I picked her up with 7 miles on it and drove her home

I built this in my access cab, removed the seats and back console. I did this for more storage.

I have been thinking of making a rear "deck" like this but then how do you get to your storage bins?

Good advice. I used just ordinary rubber hose washers to cushion mine. Over years of being in the bed the cans started to crack a bit around the holes. I then added a spacer on the bottom of the can to make it fit against the side of the bed to stop it bouncing.

    Hardware.

I'm considering making a toolbox to fit behind the wheel well on the driver's side similar to the swing-out box from the aftermarket - just a simple bracket/piano hinge mounted on the steel bed corner in front of the tailgate . Or , just the bracket setup so folks could mount their own ammo boxes ...?
I fab parts for the Land Cruisers already , maybe start adding Taco stuff ...

Yep. Pretty much what I had in mind. That's why I was asking dimensions of the larger ammo cans. Looks like it may a good size for said project.
