Notice how my tie rod and drag link all sit above the springs.

Ok, I get that, but why would you need that with links?
Plus the fact of the 80 axles tie rod is behind the axle which saves it

Even with links you'd still want the steering up out of harms way. I'm not familiar with behind the axle steering setups so I'm probably not the person to ask there.

Behind the axle with links can make it pretty busy behind there. I wouldn't say that you NEED hi steer... I'd say mid steer is just fine.

looks like he tried to keep the atlas as hi as possible and that's all fine and well if you have 25" of frame height but im a bit taller so like I said the less body cutting the better.
Edit I just looked at this guys build again and I noticed he didn't get the atlas4 he only has the two with some other crawl box in front of it and the truck started out a 2wd so some big differences I guess we will see. making another trip to the bank to day to shift funds around.

Ok, so it's not needed. I just have to set my links up to clear my tie rod then?

Yeah, and the obvious things like the engine and frame etc... as we all know. Histeer is ultimately best for leaf spring too as you can't run it below the springs or that would be retarded as hell.

Not going to lie it's no 4 door but it does look really good, looks like he did his research and set it up right. Unlike myself but this is how I learn and have fun so I'm ok with it.

the thing is everyone told me to keep it low and do it right. Thing is I don't want it low but finding that sweet spot is the hard part. should have an atlas4 by early next month the latest. Going to do a total low range around 8.??-1.0

I don't see keeping it low as doing something "right" Building it for what you need it for with quality work is what's "right" to me. My truck isn't low or high IMO, but plenty people might think it's too high. I think 25" frame height is a happy medium for me. Any lower and well there's no uptravel, and higher and well it makes the jump harder to get in lol. I think I'm at 26" in the front though because #leafs

my frame height is at 31" on used up aired up 40's if I air down im at 29" so as far as jumping goes well guess I better stay out of the kitchen and in the gym.

As far as low and "right" I was just talking about a lot of guys liking to keep their center of gravity low. Just the same im way happy with my build. First links Ive ever done and they work better with every change.

as far as your build goes with your frame height, remember I talked about my 94 it was on 37's with 27" of frame height and it did awesome everywere so I don't think you are too tall at all. That first build is what inspired me to build this one as tall as I did, I need to lower it just a touch though if im going to run 42-44's

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I think your fine at 25 the reason people say keep it low with links is its a much better geometry when kept low.

My truck handles much better at 23.5 then it does at 25" ive tried them both.

That's not too bad, gives you a few weeks to save some pennies for it!

Still got a couple orders coming too :D

Interesting, mines always handled like poop so I can't tell the difference. Hopefully links will change how it rides.

Nice! Now you gotta leave that bad boy in there for awhile for added traction in the snow in 2wd haha.

Ok, how have yall decided between
    Johnny joints
    Enduro joints
    Ballistic joints
    Heim joints

I know heims are generally louder since they are non-greasable. But they also allow more flex if I'm not mistaken? Other than that I'm not sure what to go with? Leaning away from heims just because my truck will remain a dd

I picked the Enduro joints because of their design simplicity, no special tools for disassembly/maintenance, and replacement parts cost very little. The joints themselves cost less than the others as well.
