    Hi TW!
Just wanted to share my horrible experience and loss of my '11 Taco :(

Please be careful when driving out there as this could happen to you. First, the story (it's a quick one). After a long day at work I decided to hang out with a few friends to grab some dinner for a bit. On my way home (only about a 20 minute drive from the restaurant), I was about to get on the freeway when all of a sudden a saturn makes a left turn in front of me  As tired as I was, I didn't react quickly enough and below is the result...

    Alas,
There is some good news...With Taco's amazing resale value, the insurance company will be paying me more then expected. I will be buying a new taco soon. Unfortunately, I already had the Taco of my dreams :( anyway, to all the fallen Taco's, RIP.

1st picture makes it look like you got wrecked by the firetruck. Sorry for the loss of your truck, any pictures of the Saturn?

No Pics of the saturn, sorry :-/

Trust me, I am 100% glad I don't even have 1 scratch on me. I owe that to the amazing safety features of the Taco. Also, on a side note...the other driver was ok too, just a scratch on the leg.

Insurance said if I take the wheels and tires I would have to replace them with others. Didn't have any others to replace it with so I let them go. The rear tire was done anyway (popped). They considered the cost of those tires when assessing the value of the vehicle so I got paid for them anyway :D

Oh, and I would love to wait and see what the 16 will have to offer in terms of specifications, but I am out a vehicle right now and don't want to have to start paying for a rental. Getting better gas mileage with more power sounds like a winner to me even though the 16's went down in appearance.

Just think about all the fun you'll have "modding" up your new truck. You'll be able to correct any mistakes you made with this one (if there are any) and you can post about the 3rd Gen and tell us what to avoid. All in all, I see no downside...you get a new truck and we get some inside info on the new Gen.

    Glad you didn't get hurt.

Sucks, but glad you're ok. I feel your pain.

Funny, I had the same wheels on mine.

Doesn't look totaled... Glad to hear you're ok. One of my fears with the tacoma is because of high resale, they are more likely to rebuild. If you don't mind, How much did they give you and what year how many miles? Was it enough to buy a comparable truck?

Must be something about Saturn drivers, as one attempted to smash my Taco yesterday near a local WalMart. Glad you are safe, and good luck with the new one.

Thanks for the support! You guys are right, I can start modding again :) but to answer the question above, it's a 2011 dcsb 4x4 Trd sport and they gave me 32k. I highly recommend 21st century to anyone. They paid out the value of the truck plus taxes and registration.

Hope I never have to claim insurance, but the payout sounds good. Is that because of the mods?

Honestly I didn't take a picture of the Saturn, but half of it was gone. Police took pics and put it in the report and then told me to leave. The accident caused a bit of shock so I didnt think to do the basic insurance procedure of taking pictures.
