    2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 (Prev 09 Access Cab V6 4X4)
Starting over with a new GMC AT4 Satin Steel Metallic Softopper, Bilstein 5100's @ 1.75 in the front, TSB Rear, 17x8.5 Lvl 8 Guardians, 265/70-17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Scooped, Anytime fog mod, Osram Nightbreakers, LED Interior lights, Debadged, Painted valance, Removed rear head rests, De-flapped, Hidden Hitch installed, Weather Techs, Flyzeye'd A/W/A, Cover Kings.
Hmm, we love it. We road trip a ton from 1/2 day drives to multiple day drives. My wife and I both sit in the access cab the same we sat in the double cab, so no less space for us and the kids love the truck and have never complained about the space. We tested multiple variations before we purchased.

I especially liked the over $5000 is savings up front in the ACLB vs the DCSB/LB

Raise them 2" and suddenly they look fantastic. Of course, I am biased:

When I first started looking, I was dead set on a TRD Off Road. Then I found my sport with the long bed and never looked back. I have yet to find a time where I'd need the locker with what I do. That said, if they made a TRD Off Road long bed, I'd buy it next time around.

They won't complain when they are 4. It may be a different story when they're older, but by then you can trade for something bigger too. I know my DC has come in handy so many times when someone needs a ride somewhere or we need to carpool to a hockey game and there's more than 2 of us in the truck. I had an extended cab ranger a few years back. People appreciate it when there's real full sized seats in the back.

True. Hard to justify now, though, since my truck sees nothing that it can't handle without one.

If I were to replace it with a newer truck and it was a factory option, I'd think about it.

Go for the short bed bro. I love making those tight turns. Plus, parking is easier.
If you really want the look and a long bed. Go for the access cab long bed; I think that looks the sexiest besides the rare access cab short bed.

If you want a hobbit bed get one , I really don't give 2 shits , if somebody wants a locker in a DCLB , they should get an ARB locker

There is no such thing as an ACSB except the SEMA concept truck , that's probably why it's so rare

I have no issues parking my DCLB

Parallel parking is also no problem.

Yeah , because the DCSB being 1' shorter makes such a huge difference in mpg

It's true that the payload capacity is higher by the amount that the extra foot of bed weighs .

great if you haul heavy , small boxes

Because I use my Tacoma to haul gravel or as a hot tub, because other than that what are you going to fit in that box that weighs so much that you wouldn't be better off with a fullsized bed?.

Sorry that's too much logic for this thread. Let's bring it back. NO YOU'RE STUPID :stirthepot:.

Yeah , and we all know just how good that weight rating is in the real world . Most of them with 300lbs in the bed will squat it on the bumpstops - not acceptable in my opinion . I want a real set of springs with no more than 1" of lift - I keep my vehicles a very long time (most over 300K) and don't want to deal with driveshaft and front cv joint issues down the road . So disappointed to have a pickup that can't really haul anything that has resulted in using my 6.5x12 trailer a lot more than I care to . It really sucks when I got rid of the '07 Dakota due to rust issues and a really weak useless V6 that makes my 4.0L feel like a V8 in comparison . BUT - that little Dodge could haul some serious weight - put 1850lbs in it once by mistake and it only sat on the overloads a bit , drove just fine and no damage . Otherwise , love the Taco and it's hands-down the best looking midsize out there . Most times I don't want/need a full size truck and if I want to drive something offroad I have the FJ40 tank that will put most 4x4's to shame in stock form with just bigger than stock tires/shackles . That Land Cruiser has a REAL set of springs and rides the same as the Taco - pretty lame if you ask me for something that was built 38yrs ago and is about worn out . I've put 800lbs+ in the Cruiser - no problem and it hardly sits past level .

Maybe it's time to look into an older truck and just rebuild it to new , cost would be less in the long run .
