Ok so I got my lights mounted and working. The only issue I'm having is that the little LED light on the switch stays on all the time even with the ignition off. I realize this is because I hooked the switch power straight to the battery.

So today I bought an "Add-a-Circuit" and hooked the switch power wire to the radio fuse thinking this would make it so that the switch LED would only come on when the ignition is on. NOPE. The light continued to stay on all the time.

    What am I doing wrong?

i don't have a diagram in front of me but...

the radio has two power inputs. one for memory retention of settings and the clock. the other is the switched input. this is what tells it to turn on.

i'll have to find a diagram to point you in the right direction.

Sounds like you have constant power hooked up where you want temp power. This may help.

you need to find the 7.5 amp ACC fuse. that fuse is for the switched side. you have yours tapped into the 12v constant side.

I've seen in my fuse diagram that I have two for the radio....ones a 10amp and the other is a 30 amp. I plugged into the 10 amp...I'm wondering if I try the 30 amp it would work?

Hmm...talking to a guy at work says I should just hook the switch power to my daytime running light wire using this little doohickey

Not an option i would go with, connection wise or wire choice.

cig lighter is a switched source.
