    I now have a build date for a 2015 DCSB V6 AT 4x4 TRD OR - hurray!

Will have to say goodbye to my 1992 RCLB 22RE MT 4x4 that has served me for a long time. So sad, but three people don't really fit in it and while Mitt Romney drove around with his dog strapped to the roof I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get away with doing that with my daughter.

And I just wanted to say thanks to the forum at large. I've asked a few questions along the way the past few weeks and have gotten excellent helpful answers and advice. I've got a big long list of links to older posts for the various mods I'll be doing too. I consider one of the best accessories to my new truck to be the forum here - and it was free!

Here's hoping I'm not on here asking "is this vibration normal" in a couple months :)

Oh and I was thinking of doing an 8" body lift with stacked 4x4s from Home Depot. What tires can I fit without trimming fenders and do you think I should use pressure treated wood for the lift?

Yeah, OK I guess there is that risk. There is a chance my suspension will cost a bit more because of this place :)

Yes, but I don't need or care about hp, torque or mpg improvements. Not going to be a DD or ever tow anything. What I do need is a truck delivered before summer and something that has immediate support in the aftermarket for suspension and bumpers. So that pretty much made it a 2015. In 25 years when I sell it I don't think the resale difference between a 2015 and 2016 is going to be significant either ;) But yes, for most people it seems like a good time to wait and see if we get a bit more info on the 2016 before making a decision/purchase.

    That solves that...

Though id put money on being able to bolt up just about every aftermarket suspension option from the 2nd gen to the 3rd gen. Bumpers will be out quickly after release.

And your telling me that you wouldnt want an extra 50 hp to wait a couple of months?

It sure is looking that way so far. There might be one or two that have problems though. Surprisingly Nitrochargers don't fit in the rear of the 2015 because of a small change to the lower mounting point, nothing was suppose to have changed but...

Will be happy to not risk discovering such minor annoyances myself if I had been one of the very first 2016 owners. And I would have been for sure. If I did a 2016 it would have to have been a very first allocation at a dealer and I would have to have started modding the day it came off of the lot. So I'd be the guy discovering all the little gotchas and waiting to fix them or for an aftermarket company to fix them.

You think so? I wonder about the front, looks very different and it took some time before even the more minor 2012 change had bumpers available. Plus I want aluminum which limits choices a bit. The rear bumper should be a no brainer of course.

Honestly, no. I don't know what I'd do with it. I'd never mash the gas that hard in my truck. I currently run 116 hp with about 3800 lbs loaded for camping. This new truck will be 236 hp with about 5300 lbs loaded for camping. So I'm already 45% improved in hp/weight ratio with the 1GR-FE on the 2015.

If it so happened it was next year when I needed a truck I'd be perfectly happy with a 2016/2017, looks like a great evolution of the Tacoma. If I had already bought a 2014 last year I'd be perfectly happy now too. As it stands I went into this 2015 eyes wide open as to what the 2016 likely offers and when I need delivery and to start and finish mods.
