How bad was it running all the wires through the A pillar? I have this idea in mind and was thinking of the bundle of wires it take at the same time

Found this thread tryin to locate a p/n for the harness. I have the outlet on order already. Did you solder straight into the outlet or use a harness plug?

here is my absolute favorite. I have a very small amplifier coming off my ham powering these 2 speakers. The results: I can have my stereo blazing, my windows down, going down a washboard road at 45, and I can still hear the radio at about 10% volume, clearer than the speaker in the radio itself or the external I had before it. One of these days i'll make a grill for it.

Holy cow that looks incredibly simple. I have been wondering where I could put my switches since my A/C 6spd doesn't have the center console space like the automatics do. I also love the "fighter pilot" feel of having switches overhead.

Did you do the faceplate relocation mod? Or did you chop the back of that cubby out? I have the exact same cb waiting on install and I'm torn as to what route to take.

Faceplate relocation. With the airbag(?) module right behind the cubby there's approximately zero room back there to fit the body of the unit.

Set aside a LOT of time to do it though, I easily have 18-20 manhours into the whole project. Also, I feel like I lost some power in the radio when I did it, (my RF power output test alternates between Pass/Fail when I'm not in a completely clear area) but for my future use, I don't need a ton of power.

If I did it again, I'd farm the faceplate mount out to a local shop as I'm not 100% satisfied with my setup and I would use shorter extension wires, but overall, I'm pleased. I may ultimately put my auxiliary speaker somewhere other than under my seat, but that's a project for another day.

It is a fresnel lens (bends light) so that when I am the first one at the redlight...I can see the light without having to bend down and look from under the roofline. Seems small, but count how many times a day you have to do just that.
