All good discussion - totally not off-topic. Gotta do something if you've removed the fender liner on the passenger side right?

Personally, I did the snorkel long before everything else... Inadvertently thinking ahead I guess?

We did have a group buy - led by our now banned friend XXXX (formerly Oswego)

I think the threads long gone at this point - it was like 4 years ago...

Um safari looks huge....is that off a semi? I would never have that tumor on my silver truck. Wouldnt be as bad on a dark color

Is your snorkel smaller than that one? Like the lower part. BC I was looking at yours as I typed and yours looks good.

 

His is the Hilux version and it is a smaller diameter bulge at the fender.

Have you had any problems with yours? How does it line up with your fender?

 

It works. The hilux model is obviously not designed for the taco but it does fit. The most difficult part is plumbing from the inner fender to the stock airbox. I've run it with 3 different setups under the hood. I also modified the fuck out of the part that comes into the fender to make it a straighter run.
At one point I had it running into a modified AFE CAI intake...
If knew then what I know now it would not be on my truck. More trouble than it's worth IMO.
If given the option I'd run the intake into the cab regardless of the noise.

 

So if you were to do it again, you wouldn't do a snorkel at all?

Yup.

 

I originally did snorkel because of the open intake, was concerned so went with a snorkel. Thought it was good to get above the dust etc and never thought I'd need it for water. Last year on Kane Creek in Moab I was sure happy I had one when the water started rolling over the hood and up the windshield. Not a comfortable feeling but it worked out great. I never thought I would need it for that, sure glad I had it.

 

Mine is fully sealed and I have used it several times
