Allpro Expos sagging. What next?

I'm carrying a fair amount of weight in the bed of my truck. Toolboxes, Rack,RTT, ECT. I've had All pro Expos for about a year and they've pretty much flattened out and are leaning hard to the drivers side. I'm trying to figure out how to level the truck back out. I don't know of I can add a leaf, do a shackle flip with unequal length shackles, do a 63" Chevy leaf swap or order springs from another manufacturer.



I'm pretty disappointed in the Expo's. I thought they fell into the "buy once, cry once" category. Now, I'm already having issues.

Add a leaf.

Top Gun leaf is the best one I have used, and one of the cheapest. Its not the best strictly for offroad but it holds up better with truck use and the balance equals out for me. Buy them off ebay.

 

I wonder if that center pin is long enough for the AAL and the Expo pack. If it isn't, any idea where to get longer ones, and longer Ubolts?

 

They use doorman bolts instead of center pins.. and they come with new ones, I broke one once building a spring pack and autozone got me a new one from the back.

 

Did you try to call all pro and let them know what is going on. May be a long shot but they may work with you.

Though by your use of a truck, the dakars with the optional dakar AAL sounds like it would of been a much better option.

These are the ones I buy now. Have tried tapered, and more expensive brands as well as the short ones. Short ones suck.

These are good length and they are a fairly stout leaf. Mine have seen tons of abuse, after sagging a little initially they have held up great. Look like a tired leaf but keep going. My fabtech ones I had preferred before were twice as much money and I broke on in the tacoma. Also broken a few leaves in other trucks, but for the price you can't go wrong its worth a shot! I bought them when I was broke because of the price and was totally surprised that for my use they have outperformed ever other one so far.

I have overloaded my trucks many times, so leaves failure is more of a when than an if for me. Comes with the territory of preference of the smaller truck and performing duties that most would say are for a heavy duty truck

 

an AAL on the all pro pack isnt gonna work. not the way they are designed with such small leaf at the bottom and so many leafs.

 

I would add the leaf where ever it fits with the length in the pack myself. I always restack for proper order just w the stock springs in the taco its the bottom one haha.

 

I had the Dakars and they sagged. I then added the

$81 D29XL Leaf Spring

D29XL, and that didn't help either.

I went the chevy 63 route, but bought skyjacker 5" lift springs. They hold up my heavy ass just fine. I do have a bit of rake when unloaded though. There are definitely more options with the chevy springs though as far as load capacity.

 

Doesn't your flat bed weight like 800 lbs though ?

 

I would give Allpro a call and see if they can help you. I have been running the Expo's on my truck for a while with lots of weight in the rear and haven't had any issues.

 

Damn, it's not that heavy Oz. The bed weighs about 350 and the toolbox is 200. That's before tools though.

That's interesting because I have 450lbs on board at all times and just the regular Dakar pack

 

My truck in Iraq was 73000 pounds and has 3 leaves in front and 5 in back.

The other truck had like 12 leaves in back and like 10 in front. Those 3 were like 6 ft and over half an inch thick. Weird setup.

 

My expos are worn out too and I don't Cary anything in my bed

 

Would air bags help?.. would also be excuse to have a larger compressor or use the compressor from the lockers you have... only other thing I could think of would be add overload leaves to your existing pack.. maybe even Dakar overloads that someone removed for a lower lift... again not expert.. just throwing discussion topics out..

 

overloads aint gonna work on the all pro packs.... they are way to triangle shaped... an overload wouldnt touch the pack untill its already negative arch

 

Ditch the leafs get a custom pack from Alcan built for your specs.

could also re arch the expos but that's a temporary fix.

 

Actually I have a buddy that added overload to expo pack it touch at regular ride height and it will also take away from your flex
