29500 OTD for that truck is a pretty damn good deal. FYI got my brand new 2013 TRD OR v6 auto 4x4 DCSB for 34k OTD

You guys should also remember I don't pay sales tax since I'm military. It makes everything seem like a good deal. But then again the prices of tacoma around here are through the roof. You get a base model 2wd for the price you paid for your trd 4x4.

Maybe its regional? I asked the dealer why they sell base models for the same price i can get a trd pro in texas and they looked at me with no answer. I definitely didn't make the sale easy I was extremely stubborn and had a price in mind and wasn't going over it.

tags and title for us in kentucky is 40 bucks and then document fees. I guess I've been taking this whole tax free thing for granted. Turns out to save a lot of money.

They had a 2013 dclb trd sport with 40k miles for 700 less but it wouldn't fit in my garage. I need to park in the garage my driveway has a huge tree and when it storms I've seen the branches smash cars up pretty bad. I can't remove the tree either since i live on base.

It's a SR5. Identical to mine. It's a pretty common package in middle TN. OR wheels. Backup cam. Leather steering wheel.

I do love the power of the v6 and the automatic is nice since I have stop and go traffic on the way to work. But I will miss that 4 banger with the 5spd. Even though it was a little sluggish it was still fun to drive.

The dealer is probably financing at some high rate. And when he can't keep up with payments they get the truck back (to sell to someone else). This kind of predatory practice should be shut down. The military should include financial planning and management as part of basic training. I believe his CO can and should have blocked that deal.
    Off soap box.

We try and mitigate it by having soldiers give us a debt to income ratio before purchases. But at the end of the day its there money and we can't say no. Usually soldiers won't even tell you there thinking of buying a car because they don't want us to know and try and stop a shaddy deal.

I was stationed at FTCKY on and off for 13 years ('96-'09). During that time, I would have NEVER bought a car in Clarksville, the local dealers were a ripoff IMHO. The Toyota dealership was ok, but runaway with anything saying "Mathews" in the title. I bought our 4Runner in Franklin and got a pretty good deal, back in '02.

For the soldier, USAA prices are hard to beat.

Thank you for your service.

FYI, Camp is a USMC term. All Army posts are called Forts. USAF uses Base.

Nice truck. Your truck looks to be the same package as my 2013, SR5, alloy wheels, backup camera, leather wrapped wheel, fog lights, tow package. It replaced a loaded TRD Sport and there isn't much I miss, it's a nice package without the TRD premium. Mine was new last year purchased from a large suburban Minneapolis dealer for 29K.

Not always, Camp Woodstock, Madison WI as well as Camp Williams/Volk Field, Camp Douglas, WI Both are WI Army National Guard sites. Camp Douglas is actually the name of the town outside Camp Williams.:D

I was about to pm you back since I was dead set on keeping the ac. But when the dealer offerered me what I paid for my ac I took it. Toyota down the street offered me 21500 for trade in on a new tacoma...... Ford gave me 24500.

I know it's a selling tactic to give more for the trade in when In reality there just pulling off the price of the new truck. But we discussed the final price of the dcsb first before I even mentioned my other tAcoma.

Then it was financing a used car wich made it difficult. Interest rates are high for used cars and the lowest I could get was a 3.5. Might not seem high but it was higher than my 2.2 on the ac. This is the part that took me two days to decide and fight with the bAnk haha.

The dealer I went to sure had high prices on fords but that's what they were a ford dealer. but like I said they had this tacoma for a Long long time and needed to move it. Other than that I tell my soldiers to drive far far away.

And thank you for your service!

and thanks I like it. Probably going to plastic dip that chrome bumper today. Its just cold and I've noticed if you plastic dip in the cold its a pain to get off.

Ha, I traded an old F-150 for mine.
I haven't tried any of the plastic dip yet.
I'm about to do something with the crap speakers in mine, they really suck.
I hate the ones up in the head liner.
Nice day here thinking about going for a drive on the beach.
