That's impressive to be done in 4 hours. I wonder if that would make my paint finally shine

I have a matching dent on my tailgate from the same thing. I wish it was my bumper... an excuse for a plate bumper would be great, but I don't have any plans for an aftermarket tailgate :(

Wal mart wax. Looks great til it gets dirty then it just looks dull. When my cheap stuff runs out I'm gonna use a meguairs paint restoration kit with claybar

Meguairs is good. I prefer mothers brand products. I would clean you truck with dawn dish soap to get all the old stuff of and greasy things or a good citrus base car soap the once u dry it go straight with clay bar. It will get off more than you though. I have never buffed or used and scratch stuff on any vehicle.

Won't products like dish soap with degreaser hurt the paint, at least over time? I know windex is a nono.

Thanks for the tips I will try them. It's so dang hard to keep all the water spots off, it's like I need to wash the whole thing again. But this was just a quick half arse wash for the bugs.

I haven't been able to get the wheels to look good. Only time they have is when I used the polish from my wax kit on them which took longer than I'd like to spend on wheels. Maybe a matte black detailer would work

I don't use dawn everytime I'm just saying if I was gonna go from a starting point forward dawn or a citrus based car soap would work best. I'll send ya a link when I get home to a website I use a lot they have a lot if good tips. Dawn isn't acid. True it's not made for what this use is but it's a soap with degreasing agents. It's not like your pouring tide with bleach in there

I'm going to me a get a high-pressure, electric leaf blower to dry my truck off. My next door neighbor doesn't use towels or a chamois, he uses a leaf blower and it works great....no scratches either! :)

These are the products I use for my taco and wife's 4 runner. I've tried many different brands. I do like mcguires* tech wax too. The white stuff in the jug I have works excellent as tire shine doesn't sling and lasts for weeks. It is also great on interiors. I know that sounds retarded but it works for a lot of different uses.
