Damn. I'm going to have to break down and go to the junkyard and find a DC joint and have my rear shaft re-built.

For the rear I'm running an '87 IFS front shaft ($80 on eBay) that is clearanced for more angle. 3rd 4runners have DC joints, I think they are a little bigger, not sure if they are front or rear so do some research. Oliver's Driveshaft is awesome to deal with FYI.

I'm actually going to talk to them Monday when Dave gets back. Going to see what my options for the rear are and I need to get them to tube the slip joint I have for the front.

I think I dealt with Dave and was very happy. He knows his shit and was really helpful.

Good to know, that seems to be the common opinion of him. Hoping he can take care of me as well.

I was surprised how tight the rear shock fit the other day, turns out I accidentally threw on a 14". Here are the 12" at ride height. I dig the adjustable upper mount.

What's left? Front axle, bolt wheels and tires and go?

Pretty much this plus some. I need to build all new exhaust, just need to get pipes. Front axle, hydro steering, button up engine, radiator, alternator and battery relocation wiring, more wiring, air compressor, fluids. I'll worry about bumpers and lights and shit after I get it moving. Still lots to do.

Lol, that's one part of it. I had the funds, but life is getting in the way too. I need more time to save $ and plan the trip.

I hear ya. It's a little too soon for me especially since I haven't even wheeled the tacoma yet. I'm sure I'll have lots of kinks to work out.

the 3rd gen 4x4 runners have em in the rear driveshaft. That's what I'm running on my taco (the DC cardon join is the same bolt pattern as the VF2A chain driven cases) think its a 66x66mm. The diff end uses the smaller 8mm bolts instead of the 10mm bolts and is 60X60mm pattern.

I found this double cardon the other week in the junk yard to use as a spare or maybe use for the runner, they run pretty cheap in the junk yard I paid $35 for this one. 49" length mid stroke.
