    If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
    I can't say for certain, but I would think so. You are reducing the amount of "bounce" or "flex" the tire experiences while mounted on the rail. I equate it to bending a paper clip repeatedly, it will weaken the metal and eventually crack/break.

    The idea behind the design is great, and frees up a lot of space in the bed, it just needs some refinement and reinforcement.

    My plan A was to attach my spare to the side. After seeing pics my plan B was to fab a mounting bracket using the bed mount bolts but that gets overly complicated. Plan C was spare on roof. Going with plan D, a bumper with swing away mount. Going to CBI since they are pretty close to me.

    Not much of a mod. Added some support to my bed rack. It had a slight downward bow. Not because of the weight but because the rack itself was originally designed to have an upward bow to compensate for weight. This was the scrap piece I had laying around from the project. I may add some D-rings or at least drill some holes for additional tie down points.

    HA! :laughing: No. That was just to raise the center a bit to get it level and drill and bolt it, then the jack was removed. It added quite a bit of support with just that one piece.

    Well got rid of almost all the chrome in my truck now. Just need a new, black exhaust tip.

    Sanded the chrome on steering wheel \/

    Also did the chrome around the shifter (automatic trans) and the chrome piece on the bottom of shifter.

    I thought I had seen you do this! It is sooo much better now lol. Stinkin chrome!

    I actually am on my stock SR5 exhaust that I cut and put a tip on, so I need a new tip now lol. I have painted the exhaust pipe black though. Better than the all rusty-silver color it was.
