Elocker light just blinks?

I have a 2006 trd or, and when going to 4 LO, and locking the rear diff the light for the rear diff just blinks and never goes solid red.

I have pulled the motor and seen that it does actuate back and forth and manually locked the rear end. When the rear end is jacked up and put Into 4lo and the elocker button pushed the rear end does lock up but the light flashes.

I was wondering if anyone had some ideas on why the light doesn't go solid?

 

Thats a good one, but if I'm not mistaking even with the rear end not locked, jacked up both tires are going to spin untell you put pressure to one of those tires.
locked it would continue to spin.
Otherwise im going to say that there is a short in the return wire in the sending unit for the light.

 

Yeah with unlocked the tires will spin different directions. When I lock the diff they spin the same direction.

I'm going to pull the wiring for the "locked sensor" tomorrow and use contact cleaner and see if that fixes it

Youre in N when you go to 4Lo. Make sure youre back in D , then push your RR diff lock. Drive slow and turn the wheel back and forth a little bit. Took mine some time but now it goes in and out on command. Just make sure youre in D when you hit the button.

 

Yes, use it or lose it they say on here. But it says it work. Just the light doesn't stop blinking

 

Tried cleaning the connection and nothing.

And it does work, just light keeps on blinking. Even on jack stands the rear end locks but light blinks

Rear diff switch went out, replacement should be here today.
