2003 CR250 Ive had for almost a year, already completely rebuilt the suspension and decided to do an engine rebuild :D it was time

Motor out of the bike, found the piston skirt cracked in two places, front of the piston worn/almost broken and the cylinder cracked in between the exhaust port. Crank bearings have too much play, crank seals leaking and water pump seal has been leaking coolant into the lower end. Reeds are chipped, exhaust port leaking, exhaust pipe bent and does not seal. New piston, new cylinder, new crank balanced by Crankworks, all new lower end bearings, new reeds, OEM exhaust pipe on CL, complete gasket kit, and some other misc orings and seals

Engine out and cleaning things while I wait for parts

OEM pipe cleaned and ready, not sure if I'll paint it or not

Nice work on the cr! I'm surprised that piston didn't just shatter. Was it an oem cast part?

Also I'm looking at a 2010 yz250 today, wish me luck!

I'm not sure, there arent any marks on it but read about Wiseco's and this does not have the extra lubricationg holes, which is a must on CR's. Thanks and good luck!

Well minus going through the entire harness to locate a short at the main front connection I've replaced the stator, reg/rec, batt, clutch (scored a barnelli carbon for 140 bucks shipped). Last week I did the valve cover gasket as it was startin to seep and as a coincidence the cam pulse generator took a shit. Was only a 160 dollar piece of plastic that I am now waiting on. Next plans are steering stabilizer, all-in-one rear tail light assembly, levers, hard cover seat cowl, 1000rr wheel swap, and carbon rear hugger and front fender.

Put the rear sway bar on whit finally, now Im trying to decide if I want tooters intake spacer and LCE's header for whit. With 195k on the odo Im hard pressed to dump much more money and thought into her unless it starts with motor and ends with swap.

That rekluse shit is mind boggling. Buddies got it on his 2010 YZ450. He's all peep my clutch, Im like werd, grabbed some clutch and then bam knuckles to lever. NO feel whatsoever, its fucking insane though and a def added bonus. Dont know if I could justify the expense. Wouldn mind a hydraulic setup on the 954 as well.

A few guys I ride with run them, they all love 'em. I think I'm going to pick one up this summer when the current clutch starts to get slippy. I've been eyeballing a 350 F for a couple years now, may go that route also.
