I'd be up for a M & G; I might actually be able to make it to this one :anonymous:

Of course, we'd have to ostracize any Frontiers to the far corner of the parking lot...

Nope, and you can even bring a guest IF you do not mind riding around in my Lexus instead of a Yota....;)

The "Locks" are 5 minutes up Riva' or a 10 minute drive...:D

Granted it is not "Down East" but we like it....

    Hey guys!

I hope all is well! I am thinking of buying a used 4Runner that is NH. Any of you guys know the deal on the tax? Will I get nailed with the Maine Sales Tax on top of the Excise tax when I register it in Maine? Can I roll it in to the price of the vehicle when I finance it?

Since it is in NH, Do I need to pay a sales tax at all? I am sure that would be too good to be true.

How does that work? Any info would be helpful...

    Thanks,

When you go to register it in your town, they will hit you up for the sales tax then.

    Well hello.
When you reg you will pay both of I remember right.
They nail your ass when u do this.
People use to flock out of state to buy because of all the taxes. Then someone decided to "fix" it.
You can't get away from it. Cough it up .......

Yep you will pay 5.5% you can try a bill of sale for a lesser amount but it probably won't work. You also will have to pay the excise tax and the tag fees.

If you are buying from dealer, they role the sales tax into the loan. Then when you go to register it, you pay the excise tax. That's how it worked when my fiancé bought her jetta in mirrimack new Hampshire.

I bought my Tacoma from a Dealership in Portsmouth. They also rolled the sales tax into the total cost of the truck, but then they cut me a check for the tax. Then when I registered it the local town office charged me the sales tax.

    Hey guys,
I'm from Florida and I'll be heading to Maine in June for a week long vacation. We'll be staying about 30 mins North of Starks/New Sharon. Does anyone know of some good places to go with my truck around there? Only 2WD with limited mods, so not looking for anything crazy :)

    Thanks!

North Anson / Solon area, then.
Tons of old/active logging roads up there if you want to do some adventuring without getting stuck. If you're willing to go a little further north to the Bingham area there's a whole network of logging roads up there to explore. I've been camping on the Austin Ponds up that way for literally 25 years (10 of them on a pedal bike, 15 of them with a driver's license) and I don't think I've found all the roads (or fishing holes) yet, haha! Tons of little streams for some brook fishing, though.

North Ansonite here. Won't be around this june, but as Noelie there all kinds of places to explore up there. I spend a lot of time cruising the roads around bald mountain pond and the west of the Kennebec river over to flagstaff lake. Your pre runner will be fine in most places. Got a name of the town you will be in. That would make it easier to suggest some paces. Also pick yourself up a delorme maine atlas and gazetteer. Those are very handy when exploring the maine woods.

Thanks very much for the input guys. Pretty sure we'll be staying off of Sandy Pond which looks to be about 15 mins North of North Anson. My father-in-law and I will be looking to do some brook fishing while out and about so any trails/roads that pass by water would be great.

    Thanks again!

Lol. In that part of the state, you can pick pretty much any logging road or trail and expect that at some point it will go past/over a brook/stream/pond.
