    The only reason those flares ever happened was because I was on leave of absence from Home Depot for three weeks...

    Overall I'm happy with the results but they are far too time consuming to mass produce.

    I would be interested in these flares. I would love to go to 35" tires and have regeared for it already. But not knowing how much fender cutting, firewall pounding, flare chopping, etc has me stalled. If good quality flares were available (and stay available in case of damage) then there would be less of a roadblock. I have read here how some guys run without inner fenders but this is like asking for trouble IMO. A clear path for running 35's would be great! Flares would be a good start.

    take 2" off the fenders and flares and hit the pinch weld and wall until you don't rub. Do a CMC and there is your clear path.

    Then either replace the liner, re route the intake, or get a snorkel.

    I used a angle grinder at first and while I was able to get a clean line, I also got chipped paint. It got away from me while sanding the edge too and that left a nice reminder that I suck with power tools above the flare haha. Those snips I linked above are like using scissors and leaves a clean cut. Worth buying them. I would get an extra blade too because I broke one.

    Getting a clean line? Id say the snips. Effort, probably the jig saw. I needed to take a few breaks and let my hands rest. They aren't hard to use or squeeze but it is a lot of squeezing.

    okay, as to cutting the flares: If you cut 2" or so from the inside of the flares then thae will no longer have that flat suface to keep mud and dirt from packing between the flare and the fender under it. At which time what does the flare do oter than stick out a bit?

    Also if you cut away the steel front fender (oper the wheel arch) you remove the bent over edge which gives the fender strength. Is this trimmed fender now really fragile so that it dents in on brush rubbing against it?

    I used a dremel too and it took awhile and a few blades. I'm super anal about shit like this and the dremel allowed me to do it with added precision.
