New Tattoo Care...............................

I recently go a new tattoo............its my 7th one and it seems to be taking allot longer to heal. I have been using A&D ointment,keeping it out of the sun,covering it up when needed,etc......for those with tats,what did you find best for care and healing ?..............

A&D worked good for mine, I went out in the sun too soon and somebody rubbed it thinking it was fake so it kinda faded. But from what ive heard A&D is the best.

 

aquaphor worked best for me...and it doesnt smell!!!

plus you can get it in a tub or a squeezey tube!

 

Preperation h works well

 

A&D for the first 2 days and then Lubriderm unscented lotion for the remainder.

 

Tattoo Goo.

Works great for the healing process and if your going to show them off it really makes the colors pop. Smells good, too.

 

I just use unscented lotion. The longer it takes to heal the better.

 

This is what I usually use. After a couple weeks, I usually just rub some lubriderm on a few time s a day.

 

I have always used bacitracin ointment for the first couple days. Then unscented lotion. Dr Bronners tattoo balm is good after it heals.

 

That's what I use. It works great. For me it did at least.

 

whord... this is truth, healed faster than my other tat/s...

 

i always used triple anti biotic for a few days. usually 3-4 days. then unsented lotion for the next few weeks. keep it moist and the color will not fade near as much.

i used tattoo goo for the first few days and then lubriderm afterwards when i first got my tat done. when i went for touchups, i did absolutely nothing, no covering it, no lotions, and just let it heal

Lubriderm unscented as posted above 2-3x a day. A&D and other ointments may pull out the ink.

 

I just got a new tattoo a few months back and used Aquaphor and had the best results yet. Which leaves me torn because (see below)

They can also clog pores alot faster than non-petro products. That can (but won't always) lead to pimples/divots in the skins under the tattoos and a mottled surface. I do use Lubriderm occasionally even now that they are well healed.

If you are into homeopathic/herbals you can also take ORAL Arnica (NOT TOPICAL) to ease the swelling/irritation. Arnica is used for bruises, sprains. strains, and minor irritations mostly...and can help with the discomfort.

also, ive heard if u put too much a&d it clogs up your pores i guess?? maybe causing it too fade? not sure though...just something i have heard.
