Update: I bought a 2003 DC 4x4 two days ago, upgrade to "Owner" complete!

Here is the truck in my driveway:

First mod complete (can you spot it?)

Well, I officially upgraded from "Lurker Status" to "Tacoma Owner Status" two days ago!!!

    I (edit) am selling this:

...which I affectionately refer to as "The Money Pit Edition" Click
here if you want to feel the pain of EWS.

It's a Titan Swapped 2005 Xterra, with all the goodies.

I am currently shopping for a 2001-2004 Gen 1 Tacoma DC 4x4, and perusing this forum heavily. (thanks in advance, great site!)

Look forward to updating this thread with pics of the new ride soon.

j/w, why getting rid of your rig? Looks like you put a lot into it! I saw you posted on Nathan's build page... He has a really nice Taco he's getting rid of.. Maybe. That would be a hell of a nice start if you could snag that up :)

Why would you get rid of that sweet Xterra? I usually don't like them stock but yours is good looking.

Well, I put a link to my build thread over on TheNewX.org...but in a nutshell, I added up all the receipts for repairs to my Xterra, and it totaled over $9K in six years...which doesn't include my mod list. That list is north of $10K in green backs.

I just rebuilt my transmission at 208,XXX miles, to the tune of $3,400, and now it needs a timing chain service, water pump, and most frustrating another set of catalytic converters to the tune of $2,300.

I have previously owned 7 Toyotas, from mid eighties Hi-Lux pick ups, one 4-Runner, and a 2003 Tundra.

This was my first Nissan, and while I truly love the rig, and it has taken me to some great spots (Moab, Big Bear, and Area 51 twice ;) ) but the $$$ needed just to get it smog certified and running total almost another $5K.

Toyota reliability is pretty damn tough to beat, not to mention the huge after market for parts. Over in the Nissan world, we are kicking and scraping just to get skid plates that fit...and bumper orders taking 10+ months for delivery.

Essentially, I'm money exhausted fighting for parts in a niche industry with a vehicle that doubles as a shop vac for my wallet. :D

Haha well glad to see you crossing over. We're no jeep owners so the pain is kinda still there when it comes to aftermarket stuff... just not quite as bad as Datsun :D

Plan is to start an expedition build, mild lift, upgraded 265's, and some type of bed rack/softopper bed option.

Sustainable adventure vehicle is my priority. Build thread coming soon. :)
