Thanks. We started jumping off the local bridges and the Perrine in the early to mid 90's in T10 military chutes and rigged them to the metal rails on top. I am 99.9% sure we were the first to jump and we were jumping 450 ft into the water with pick up boats. At the time we knew nothing about BASE jumping and were just in it for the challenge. Today the chutes are far more advanced and able to steer and control speed so, there is an actual landing area.
We also used to rappel it in the dead of night as that was an arrestable offence. It is now a legal jump but, nothing can be affixed to the side. Today the Perrine is jumped almost every day by jumpers all over the world as it is one of the 2 bridges in the US to legally jump.

Interesting. I have crossed that highway 93 bridge a couple times. I saw something about people base jumping off of it.

Lately it has been today was in the high 20 ' s with lots of sun, tomorrow will be the same that with massive heat loss is just making them grow. Tomorrow I get to do the high side.

 

You redoing the attic with batts or blown in ?

 

20 years ago we used to sit under the bridge on the scaffolding and shoot pigeons all day with .22's and now my nuts tingle just looking over the edge in my truck.

 

Blown in insulation is a messy pain in the ass.

 

That's why you hire someone and it works way better than batts

 

Was just about to ask which is better, but you answered already! Thanks. We use the attic for lots of storage. We can definitely organize it better. My plan is to build elevated storage on one side. Elevate a walkway to it. Tubes over the light fixtures from the ceiling below and fill the sucker with blown insulation to recommended amount.

 

Had this done last year....cooling/heating bills cut substantially...$4k for whole house....will pay for itself in a year..

That looks amazing! I wish we could afford to do that. Our house is so hot cold and improperly insulated it's not even funny. Maybe a few years down the road. Definitely would be a huge money saver though.

 

It is neat. How might this stuff hinder repairs within a wall? Electrical or plumbing. How would you run future wiring?
