Once again I am very glad I have gone to Josh with RCI Metalworks. He got these done in two days when I was expecting at least a week for them. If anybody is looking for skids or sliders, and are looking for a local place, Josh is the person to go too. http://www.rcimetalworks.com/2005-Tacoma_c14.htm

I've got a little arc welder similar to that. Never used it, too lazy to wire up a 220 outlet. :p

It actually burns pretty good for a plug in one. I was impressed. I did have to turn it up 175.

Nice! I was just looking at welders yesterday while getting my CO2 tank exchanged. There is a badass Lincoln digital wire fed MIG with gas option that I liked. Even has a TIG add on kit you can buy for it. I just didn't like the price tag of $1k.

Hey guys/gals, from Nebraska and looking at having to get my 2014 Supercharged Tacoma with 12k miles on it to Denver area. I have had Toyota HQ involved and been to my local dealership 4 times now with them telling HQ there is nothing wrong nor can they duplicate mh problems.

Problems- Losing power, feels like engine is missing, tranny feels like it is slipping, supercharger sounds horrible.

HQ told me I am more than welcome to go to another dealer for second opinion but could not gurantee me ang travel reimbursement or any other help, along with refusing to send an engineer to my dealership here. I was pointed to your thread off of facebook. Looking for any Toyo Techs here that have advise on where I can go and what to do!

Here is a link to a video I took yesterday showing what the supercharger is doing just at idle.

Did the dealership even pull the s/c off? If I was the mechanic and you brought that to me that would be step 1. Step 2. would probably be obvious once you removed the supercharger to get a look at what's broken.

Mountain States did my install. The tech that did mine had 13 prior installs under his belt. Mine does not make that noise that I'm aware of. Fortunately for you, I believe it's the rotors in the supercharger and not engine damage nor should it damage your engine. The loss of power is likely a loss of boost due to the rotor problem.

No boost gauge? I found a cheap one at advanced auto parts. I'd pick it up and hook it up and check the gauge. You don't have to route the tube through the firewall for a temporary install. Just route it through the driver's side window to check for boost.

Honestly, I don't think you even need to do that. You need to get it to a Dealer that will fix it. They are noisy but not that kind of noisy.

No they did not take the charger off, they literally just looked at it by opening the hood... and then the next time after HQ scheduled my appointment all they did was take screen shots with computer and sent them to HQ showing nothing abnormal at idle for readings.

Yeah welders are not cheap. That's why I'm avoiding buying one. I need the cash for parts first.
