    same here, the 2.7 regear'd with 4.88's and 35s aint to shabby! Other than the LT its honestly best mod I've ever done. money well spent for sure.

    I ran one of them and it was rather hard. People expected huge discounts on already heavily discounted products. It you ordered everything pre built from them they will discount the parts as if you got them from a group buy. So unless you can install them yourself or find a local mechanic that will do it cheaper there wasn't a huge discount to be had. I still save a few hundred and glad they did it.

    I did it with my truck half in and half out of my garage because it doesn't fit. It took about 12-14 hours, but it could have been quicker. If you had air tools it might be quicker yet. If you look through this thread there are links to write ups. ECG has a writeup also on their web site. The rear is pretty easy and straight forward. The front is a little trickier but, not impossible by any means. Keep in mind the time it took me was by myself also. With a friend especially one who is car savvy, it would be even quicker.

    Yeah im don't think anyone around me has done gears before so I'd be on my own....I'm still learning how tomdo these things on my own. My last 4 runner was completely stock and all I did was the maintenance. I might look in Arkansas and see how much they could do gears for....

    It's really just removing bolts and such. The thing that took me forever was getting the CV's out. For the life of me I couldn't get them to pop out. It's kinda hard on your own because the front diff is heavy, awkward and you are not in a good position to handle it.

    Just remember to replace the stub shaft from the old diff into the new one :anonymous:

    Plus $1800 sounds extreme to me unless they're supplying gears

    Yeah I've replaced my drivers side one and I hope like hell I don't have to replace it again. Didn't have the right tools to begin with so it was pretty difficult.

    Nope that was at the local 4wheel parts wi them supplying the gears and the other quoted me around $1900-2000 with me supplying the gears.

    yeah hardest part is man handling the front diff in place and putting the bolts in. As for the CV's take a pry bar wedge it between the diff and the inner then give it a good yank and they will pop right out.

    Im finding out more and more that 4WP is kinda a joke! Maybe just my local one here is but ive had some bad experiences this month with them amd their prices is not that great. They can pricematch which means to me they have the ability or markup.

    My problem with 4wp is that they have a have a brick and mortar, but never have anything in stock. They have to ship it in from their warehouse. I'll just order the stuff online and cut out the middle man.

    Yeah that stupid shaft is what fucked me up the first time. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get it out. Haha besides that, the front install only took me 3 1/2 hours by myself with just hand tools and a jack. Last time I pulled the rear to check for a noise I had it in and out in an hour. Hardest part of that is bench pressing the damn diff and getting it straight on the studs. Haha
