    Hi,

Sorry if I put this in the wrong place as this is my first post.

I have a 2009 Double Cab Tacoma that didn't have running boards when I purchased it.

A few weeks later I found some on craigslist that "said" came off a 2010. They aren't even close to fitting mine. The don't even fit between the two tires. And I have since tried selling them on CL thinking they may fit newer Tacoma's but someone came along with a 2010 Crew Cab and did not fit either.

I'm thinking he got hosed on CL as well and suckered me into buying them.

The dimensions between bolt holes from front to back are roughly 30 1/2" then 39 1/4 between the back two holes.

    Any help is really appreciated.

Those look like different sizes altogether.

Did you try switching which side you were trying to install them?

The mounts don't look to be symmetrical from side to side!

I have a double cab and mine are 7'3" long

The center brackets are about 30" from the front brackets and the rear brackets are about 39" from the center brackets.

I agree...look at each end of both rails. The one of the left looks fairly symmetric...the one on the right looks like there is more "material" after the step at the bottom of the photo than the top. Could be the angle of the photo too :notsure:

To the OP, do you have a long bed or short bed? The rails are different even though they could both be double cabs.

What bugs me is it seems like the bolt holes on the board mounts and the factory holes on the truck seem like they should match up. But, when I go to mount them the boards rub both tires?!

The rails are the same. It's just an optical illusion. They are mirror images of each other. Notice the location of the brackets. The Bracket that goes toward the front of the truck is closer to the end on each of the rails. This bracket is supposed to be shaped slightly differently than the other two as well.

What cab style do you have? If these are as you say 7'5" long they would only fit a double cab.

Oops, I just saw you have a double cab. What size tires do you have?

There is a full 8' between the wheels on my 2012 double cab with 265/65/17 wheels and tires.

those don't look like the usual ones I see from a tacoma, on the ones i had, the front is curved/bent, and the back is flat, however, aside from them not fitting between the wheel wells, do the brackets at least line up? they could be for the double cab long bed?

i also feel like i've seen very similar steps for f150, btw I'm pretty sure deezee makes these steps for toyota, so they could not even be for the tacoma at all, also i believe the 2007-2013 tundra use the same steps

just read this, sounds like they're for a double cab long bed,

for the access cab, 2 of the 3 mounting brackets will line up, but the boards will be the same length as for the double cab short bed

also steps for double cab short bed and double cab long bed are usually interchangeable, except when they're too long, like in your case

The only thing is, these are not too long. The OP states that these are about 7'5" long (about the same length as mine) The distance between the brackets is almost identical to mine. Since I have a double can short bed and I have a distance of 8 feet between the front and rear tires, they should fit his truck unless he has some ridiculously large tires.

If we don't hear back from the OP before too long, I'm going to declare troll.

he probably just measured them wrong, they're prob 8.5', he does say the bracket looks like they will line up, and you can see at the bottom of the board how much extra board there is from the last bracket

Well, if they are 8'5" then they would only fit a long bed double cab.

When I measured the boards it was dark out but they are definitely roughly 7.5' long. Sorry I haven't been replying. But this weekend I will certainly try to get them on again and post back.

Thanks for all of your help.

Ok last chance here...The short bed double cab has a full 8 feet between the back edge of the front wheels and the front edge of the rear wheels (measured with stock 265/65/17's) yet you claim these will not fit without hitting the wheels?

I happened to measure the mounting points on my steps and they are almost exactly the same measurements you gave so I do not see a problem there.

Unless you have a 6 inch lift and are running 37 inch tires I do not see what the problem is. In any case, troll or not, good luck.

Ok I did some tinkering today and figured out that these definitely can NOT fit my vehicle. I tried switching sides and swapping the mounts. The mounting holes all line up correctly but the problem is the back portion of the boards rub against the back tire. And these ARE just regular size stock tires.

Here are more measurements I took:
    Running Boards- 7'9"
Distance from rear mounting hole to end of running board- 17"
Distance from rear mounting hole on vehicle to tire- 14"

I hope that can clear something up.

I'm thinking maybe the long bed versions have more distance between front tire and rear tire? That's the only way these would fit.

Here's some images that might help to make more sense of what I'm trying to say.
