Hey guys , I just actually traded both my 2013 Tundra and Tacoma needed a heavy towing diesel and got the best price trading at a GMC dealer that owned a Toyota dealer .
So i am in the market but not sure if I'm going to do the tacoma or tundra again .
Just walking the lot and they had a 15 Tacoma DB cab long bed sport caught my eye . My 13 Taco was a off road , only used the locker once or twice down in the jersey pines .
Does not look like much changed since 13 … I'm torn between that and a Tundra , they had a SR5 basically same price with 5.7 for 34k
How are the frames on the longer trucks .
I had a crew max and never had a problem but could watch the bed flex and move from the rear view mirror .
    Thanks guys

I'm actually looking to trade in my '05 Taco TRD Off Road for a new TRD. Problem is, I was looking for a DC, LB, TRD OffRoad but was told by the dealership that they only make the DC OR in a short bed, not a long bed. Only LB is the Sport edition.

I thought this was a bit strange that they wouldn't so I haven't decided which one I want.

I have an '09 DCLB Sport. I haven't noticed any flexing and haven't missed the rear locker. I haven't taken mine off road though, nor have I done any towing, so can't comment on those areas.

Honestly it depends on what you're going to be doing with the truck.

I think the Tundra looks a lot nicer than my Tacoma... but I also think the Tundra would be a complete motherfucker to park, especially after I put a lift and tires on it... which I would obviously do. That also destroys the gas mileage, and I would want the biggest motor possible, so that would do even more to hurt it.

Not to mention there are plenty of trails that I know my Tacoma can fit down, while a Tundra would probably not.

O.P. - Not sure I understand. If you need a heavy towing diesel, then why are you considering a Tacoma again?

I guess OP means he traded in a taco plus a tundra in order to get a GM diesel vehicle.

Now that he has the diesel and has presumably made some money with it, he needs to look at a smaller ride for trucking around town so he doesn't depreciate the shit out of that diesel moneymaker in the meantime.

... so here he is, lookin at either a new Taco or a new Tundra.

This is, of course, purely a guess.

I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But I have no clue what you are talking about. Well, you're talking about buying a Toyota.......

But you said you just traded two on a GMC.

So you trade two, buy one, now are shopping for something like you traded?

If I got that right, why did you trade them both?

If you are talking about about a DC, you are correct. You can get a long bed OR in the access cab.

I take it as he wants a second truck to drive instead of daily in his diesel.

I have 2 trucks. One for a toy and my tacoma as my Daily driver. Nothing wrong with that if that's what he is after.

I'd buy a tacoma over a tundra any day. 3 people I know with tundras had them go in limp mode on really cold mornings. I've heard that's corrected but won't risk it

I went test driving last friday , drove the 15 Tacoma basicly same as my 2013 feel cheated by trading a hood scoop for a locking axle .
Dealer was un loading a 4runner Trail premium ... Basicly all the same stuff as my offroad taco and the stupid hood scoop but really like the manual selector for the transfer case .
Not sure why the Tacomas still dont have that . I'm pretty happy with my selection .
Only thing that sucks is I have a case of spin on oil filters ...I'm going to miss the tacoma spin on filter .

If you had an offroad taco before; then I think you mean you would feel cheated by trading a locking axle for a hood scoop?

You're two highlighted statements directly conflict with each other. I have to take an ibuprofen every time I read one of your posts. :(

But yeah if you have the diesel truck with a bed already, then the 4-runner would be my choice. It's going to have a much nicer ride and interior than a taco. You can always add a small trailer to haul stuff with the 4-runner too.
