Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I transfer in a week and I am stepping on the new guys toes (he is a dumbass) and he complained...so my boss (30 year former chief current LCDR) said he would make him happy while hooking me up so I work for 2 hours from 0900-1100....

    Yes.

Why not clean it up a bit before you run your beads? If you space the pieces apart you'll get better penetration as well. How are these going to attach to the truck?

I know right? That Fucktard thought he was going to get me to be nice or something and my boss saw right through that shit. So now he has all the load that I had and I come in BS for a bit, drink some Government coffee and leave. Hence all the welding projects of late.

    I love my job!

Lazy. Weld penetration has been good and the gap has been pretty consistent.

To attach I am using some 1" square tubing to lift the rear off the angled portion of the swingout and then more square tubing to support the opposite end working like a gusset.

Chris hopefully this shows you what you need. It is simple. Remove the camera from the tailgate and then take some very thin gauge steel and cut a u out of it so the plug can get through and then drill the 2 holes needed to screw it to the plate using the stock screws.

Then attach it to your swingout and bend it to the right angle for viewing.

Also there was 1 or 2 little nubs for centering...I took them off with a file...drilling those little holes for the screws is a PITA so drilling 2 more was a waste of my time.

Almost done with V2. Little more metal and she will be wrapped up tomorrow. And then I will build her twin. Also decided not to do front uprights to make it easier to get a full can in and out since they will be up pretty high. There is an 1 1/2" lip there now and I don't think it will have an issues with it out of the picture.

Mounts are looking good. I would like to do something similar. Cant wait to see that final product. Curious how you are going to mount them to the swingout.

Much happier with V2. Much lighter and so much cleaner looking. I still need to do a little more smoothing and then I will start the other one tomorrow.
