Penalty on tap for worker who urinated in California reservoir

(Reuters) - A public utilities employee found to have urinated into a California drinking water reservoir that had been emptied for maintenance likely will be suspended for several days without pay, a utility official said on Tuesday.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission learned from an employee that Martin Sanchez, who earns $111,000 a year as a maintenance planner, on Jan. 6 urinated into the Priest Reservoir just west of Yosemite National Park, said utility spokesman Tyrone Jue.

"There was actually no impact to public health, there was no impact to water supply. It was just an unacceptable action by this employee," Jue said.

He said Sanchez, who works for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, has not received his discipline but he likely will be suspended without pay for several days.

"The message to him is very clear, even after this disciplinary action - zip it up or you're going to get shipped out," Jue said.

The Priest Reservoir, which holds 674 million gallons when full, is part of the massive Hetch Hetchy Water System that serves people in the San Francisco Bay area.
Water from the reservoir is treated with chlorine and by shining ultraviolet light on it as it passes through tubes.

After receiving the report that Sanchez had urinated in the reservoir, the utility concluded that he had in fact done the deed, Jue said. No criminal charges are pending in the case.

Says in the conversation that the wheels are out of stock, but I dont agree with the method they used. Put on some temp wheels to take it in, or atleast get a second dolly set to put under the front. I don't like thinking of what the driver did to get the car on the truck with kit a dolly under the back.

Exactly. If 'GM' offered to help, they should have brought a spare set of wheels to help. Dollies in the front and rear is an issue for the tow companies since they are only equipped with one set.

It's one of the few places I've been where you can make $150K/year and still be poor.

I hate the whole DC area because of that.

I'd be content to see egregious thieves and rattle can vandals dealt with like this...

Housing prices are insane and parking is scarce. A $1600/month apartment in Arlington is an $800/month apartment in Austin. Expect your car to get broken into. Parking a Vette out there, he should have expected something. Lots of people jammed into a small space.

I always tooled around in rental cars whenever I had go to the Pentagon or Crystal City, so I never worried about it.

Don't let him. He lost his hand for criminal reasons... I guess you could use the Kickass method and just take a pinky via bolt cutters. haha

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Hand cut off, and a permanent RFI tag installed like a micro chipped dog. Along with that, all SS number other personal info will be recorded and tagged. They will permanently be barred from govt. assistance of any kind. And they will not go to prison for theft or vandalism.

Second offence they get a face tattoo that identifies their crime.
