I appreciate that the team was patient in attemp to get Kane to buy in. The guy is a fun player to watch play and I have enjoyed his on ice play underPaul Maurice. It will be a boon for Buffalo in the Connor McDavid-Evander Kane line blossomed. ....

I agree, I'm glad Winnipeg was patient but there's a point when enough is enough. especially when the team seems better on nights without him. With the new lottery weighting there's a good chance the last place team doesn't get McDavid. If I were a Buffalo fan I'd be slightly miffed if you went through this season and someone like the Kings, IF the miss the playoffs, got the first overall pick.

Yup, I was just thinking how none of us have a clue about what really goes on between GM's and what information they have, and yet some of us always comment like they are in the know .

 

A Winnipeg-Buffalo swap is one of the few deals possible where everyone involved gives a giant MEH to their limited movement clause.

 

No question McDavid is not a guarantee. Whether it's Eichel or McDavid, adding Kane is apparently Buffalo's attempt at a front line rebuild. As we all know, chemistry is huge in this game, and many have stated that Kane hasn't had the right players on his line.

Wouldn't that be a screwball if the Kings landed the first pick...

A buddy of mine is good friends with a Jets owner, so I do occasionally hear about genuine concerns and directions with the team.

 

Good to see the Jets get something for Kane this season. Stafford will be a good fit with Lowery and Frolik on the third line.
Interesting to see what they do with Bufuglien, leave him with Scheifeille & Perrault where he is playing well or move him back to the blue line? Him and Myers paired up would have a lot of forwards shitting their pants in fear.
I could see Chevy making another deal before the deadline to grab a rental 2nd/3rd line forward with that 1st round NYI/STL or WPG pick plus Postma or Pardy and move Buff back to D.

 

Since Atlanta came here Kane has had a chance to play with everyone but managed to settle in on the third line most of this year.
His ice time was still up there mind you, playing a lot on special teams.

 

Maurice says Byfuglien is on D next game. I too, can imagine another deal that moves a Defenseman out.

He was a truly great third liner...with a first liners contract.
