Thule roof box and Rotopax sit nicely on the Caprack. Stood up excellently on a recent cross country trip. Also decorates nicely for Christmas.

Nothing planned. I guess if there was enough interest I could work out something out but we would need a fair number of people to make it worthwhile, otherwise my costs of materials are going to stay pretty similar which limits the discount I can offer.

How did you get this to stay in that groove? This looks like a great option that keeps you from having to go through all that extra trouble.

It's actually as if the groove was made for it. I took a rubber mallet and blunt object and lightly banged it into place, as if I was chizzling something. No adhesive, it's not goin anywhere.

I did the same thing down the driverside but I put a couple of small dabs of black RTV to ensure it stays in place...I highly recommend you put something back there so it doesn't go flapping at some point.

Appreciate it. Great write up. I enjoy seeing what people come up with when configuring these racks.

Whipped up a set of racks to bring steel home with today. Didn't want to scratch up the cross bars. :)

Did you just use epoxy to glue the rivet nuts in?

No sealant around them. These are actually plusnuts that expand an flare out on the backside to secure them in place.
