I'll probably keep it, but I'd happy to whore it out to you when you do the cage work. :D

That would be one hell of a road trip for just a bender haha. I'll probably just get my own. Need one this summer. Cage and such won't be for a while but I'll still use it plenty.

Probender runs a lower price for pirate members. Probably going to pick one of those up to build a cage in his horunner. Then maybe an hybrid exo bed cage jungle gym for my truck.

Thought of you when I was at KOH during the EMC race :D Sky Offroad race Tacoma, actually did pretty good but didn't finish lap 2 so they DNF'd.

Road trip? Hell, I could just bring it when I head back home again.

Those probenders look nice. Doesn't look like it'd be hard to convert my m32 to do the same.

Fuck yeah!! Awesome haha :D That's the first Tacoma I've seen running KOH. I looked at the roster last year and the older pickups were the closest thing. :jellydance:

And for the sake of including tech on here, I've had a helluva time over the last few days trying to wrap my head around the whole metric vs. SAE vs. NPT vs. -AN fittings. Finally found a good PDF only a couple months old that really clears things up.

    http://aeromotiveinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/TB_901_AN_and_NPT_02.pdf

And along with some installation tips.

    http://www.onallcylinders.com/2012/01/30/how-to-properly-plumb-your-vehicle/

And oddly enough, I found an -8AN threaded port where the stock oil filter/cooler mounts to the engine block. I previously thought the only non-metric part on the truck was the seat belt bolts.

It's perfect because I can run an LCE block-off plate, run an -AN fitting through to a remote oil filter and cooler setup, and back to the block right next to the other fitting.

Where is the turbo oil drain going to return?

From what I understand, it usually drains directly back into the oil pan. However, the EFR turbo is water-cooled.

No it'll still need oil for the bearings. Why I had suggested an all oil cooled turbo. Only would have had to run one line to it and one off it. The one you've picked out will need water for cooling and oil for lube.

    Derp. Forgot about that. :anonymous:

If the following is true, I'm quite comfortable with setting it up for water cooling.

    (Pulled from Garrett's site)
That last part is kind of a wtf. I thought putting the turbo on an axis was bad juju. :notsure:

Well to bypass all of that anyways, they invented turbo timers. It's a small electronic box that just leaves the car running to keep oil pumping or oil and water till the turbo cools then shuts off by itself. It will do this after you have removed the key and locked the doors

I may or may not have either of those last two things. :anonymous: In my case, couldn't I just run an oil temp sensor on/near the oil outlet on the turbo and turn off the engine when it reaches the appropriate temps?

Well as of right now, I'm running a manual trans. Wouldn't the timer not work that way if the vehicle stalls? What if for some reason I need to turn off the engine quickly, like flopping it or pulling a Monte?

There's usually an override switch for the timer if you don't want it to run the cycle.
If the vehicle stalls it will stay off, the turbo timer isn't connected to the starter or tachometer.
