My Gem Tech titanium suppressor paperwork finally came
    [IMG]

Found local used ACOG for 500.00,
    Also picked up
Wilson Combat barrel, Titanium pins, Ti gas block, ti flash suppressor,Hand Guards, A2 Armament Lite Lower and some Magpul stuffs to make a sister to the one last week.

If you haven't checked out A2 Armament Lite lowers and titanium parts, please do.
The easiest build I have completed to date. Everything fit beautifully and the finish on their parts are incredible.

The above build will be a sister to this one. 6.14 lbs with the mag and ACOG.

I have an issue I need to work out with mine, I thought it was a mag issue but turns out it's not. The bolt catch keeps catching the bolt so I have to release it after every shot (not a very efficient semi-auto). I know it's not the mag because it does this without a mag in place. I'm thinking about shaving the bolt catch a little bit to see if that solves the issue. Any other suggestions or places I should be looking? Should I just replace the bolt catch?

Mike if we ever get rid of this snow, we can hit the range and swap lowers so you can try mine to isolate the issue

What type of lower? Did you assemble it or was it a factory built? Is the spring behind the bolt catch? Does the catch move freely?

If none of those above are the culprit I have seen a lower that was out of spec in that area. The pivot for the catch was drilled too high so it wouldn't clear the bolt carrier.

If you can post some pics it might help.

That would be awesome, at least I'd know if it was the upper or lower. I do actually have a spare lower kicking around, this could be motivation to throw a parts kit in it.
It's an Aero-Precision lower and I built it up. The bolt catch is from a PSA parts kit and I have a Magpul BAD lever attached to it. It moves freely and I do have the spring installed properly. It doesn't catch the bolt every time, just most of the time. Every so often, I can get 5 rounds or so through it without issue, then it'll go on a stretch where it'll catch after every round. I can get a picture up but I'm not sure it'll show anything definitive. If that hole for the lower was out of spec, in theory I could just shave a bit off the bolt catch and be gtg, right? I might start with a new bolt catch, and if that doesn't work, shave one of them to see if it helps.

Take the BAD lever off and try again. Those things induce plenty of malfunctions in my experience.

Will do, it was never shot without it so I'll give it a whirl and report back. Thanks

Also just to make sure, you have the spring and the little plunger installed behind the catch right?

Sometimes people use the wrong spring here and it doesn't keep enough tension on the catch.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I used the correct spring. Which spring is it mistakenly swapped with typically? I do have the plunger in there also, I know that because I was pissed when I scratched the lower when I installed it.

It's usually mixed up with the disconnector spring that goes in the fire control group. That one is flared on one end. The spring for the catch is straight and slightly longer.

Noob question, what's the bar between your trigger/hammer pins?

I remember that being a precaution in the DIY I followed during assembly so I'm confident I have the springs correct.
KNS pins, it's so the pins can never loosen up and come out. I have them on mine also. It's overkill for me but if you shoot a lot, they might be worth it.
