I am looking to plastidip my stock alloy rims as a cheap fix to get the last bit of shiny off my 2011 taco. I'm looking for answers to the following questions.
    1. How long has it lasted for you or someone you know?
    2. Has anyone tried it from the midwest? I want to know how the plastidip does with salt as it is supposedly midwinter here in the middle of kansas.
    3. Does anyone have any tips or tricks dealing with this stuff? I have watched all the videos and read some posts, it seems pretty easy to put on just need to know what to look out for.

    Some stuff...
I've had mine dipped for a year and a half now with no issues. I wheel quite a bit during the summer and the derp holds up well. Have a scratch on one wheel from rubbing against a rock, but other than that you can power-wash them, scrub them, etc.

Easy to apply too, just do several light coats like any paint.

    nothing cool
You're in Wichita. I'm in Kansas City. So our weather is pretty much the same. I used Duplicolor Black Wrap (same as PLASTIDIP ish), and it's been on since September. Multiple car washes and still looks great.

Did it on my ol FJ. Not worth it IMO. Peeled and cracked. For the time and $ ($20/can is Canada) I'd rather get black steelies.

My stock rims lasted off roading and daily driving for a while then I got new tires mounted and balanced. Never touched them up lol they still look like that sitting in my backyard.

I did this to my Methods I have on now, no plasti dip has come off except for the lug nuts so far.

Make sure your rims are CLEAN and DRY! Do a super light coat 1st then 2 or more normal coverage coats.
