Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    I don't know..

I only take offense when I see a prerunner and stop to look at it, only to find out that its NOT a 4wd.. Which means I can't buy it for myself

I don't think anyone in this thread has taken offense to anything.

I think that applies to a lot vehicle mindsets, not just 4x4. Why didn't you upgrade to leather? Why didn't you get the V6? Why didn't you get a navigation system? Why did you get dual cab? Why did you get long bed?

Name it and everyone will ask/criticize your purchase. (Except maybe the person who got the same as you)

My first truck ever will be this year and it will be eactly what I want. I don't care who says what about it. I will do my part to study up on what options are there and figure out what will be best for me and my needs. Screw everyone else and the horse they rode in on if they dont like what my truck has or doesn't have.

And stepping off my soap box now...

Disclosure: this was not directed at anyone here. Just a general observation made. Yay America!

Buying my first truck ever as well this year and I am buying a 2016 within a few weeks (hopefully) from when they hit the dealerships! I agree with your comment completely here though, screw everyone trying to tell you what to buy. Unless they are forking over the $20k-$40k for your truck, then what does their opinion matter anyways.

Good for you, Chris! But if you get anything other than a base 2.7/Auto PreRunner (which is what I have), your out of your mind! Just kidding....thought I'd beat someone else to the punch. One of the things I enjoy about TW is that everyone is just so passionate about their truck...

ROFL! In the short time I have been in TW, I have noticed a strong passion for (and against) the Taco's.

Mine is going to be '16 DCSB TRD OR with tow package. Not sure yet on any other upgrades until I can see what comes with the packages. My wife is encouraging me to get all the bells and whistles I want in it though.

You know, there's a lot to be said about getting the exact vehicle you want. I've been driving for "a while" and I've had the satisfaction of being able to order several cars exactly like I wanted them. Man, there's nothing quite like the feeling you get when you see "your" car being backed off the hauler.

Although I didn't order my truck, I found exactly what I wanted, right down to the color, at my local dealership and I love it. If I hadn't only had the truck for 18 months, I'd be planning the purchase of a 2016 right now. I think a 3rd. gen PreRunner in all black would look great!

When ordering a vehicle that does not have a price or anything, how does that work. Meaning, if I go to my Toyota dealer this weekend and want to get on a list to order my '16, when do we talk final price? I used USAA to get my last three cars. They did all the negotiating for me. I just showed up, signed papers and left.

This has got to be different since I cannot go through them to do any negotiating on vehicles that are not there yet. Maybe I'll give them (USAA) a call to discuss options on the 2016 and see what they can do.

'coording to "my guys" (Interweb & Inventory Sales Managers), they won't be able to do final price until the truck is in hand. What was agreed to was USAA pricing only, based wholly on whatever pricing points apply to the 2016. Guestimations were made based on 2015 pricing, but that is only ballpark at this point.

I am anticipating a call to the effect of "hey Cap, you cool with $XXK?" and I'll be like "what's invoice?" and they'll tell me invoice and I'll pretend I'm carefully considering my options because I've got more money than sense at this point and will just buy the thing outright before the trailer delivering has left the lot.

    Who knows? No one likely.

That said I'll be surfing net hoping they have a TRD sport variant in a different color with color matched handles and grille etc to see what that will look like. I'm one of those people that hates Chrome so I'm very curious as to how that will look.

I looked at the web site. It appears they only have the Limited we saw in Detroit. Hopes for new information are plummeting...

Good god that sucks. How hard is it to simply show another option?? Much sad face if this is true.
I don't care about more information just want to see another option visually..

Sounds like my situation. The guy I was working with gave me a quote for a 2015 about $600 under USAA pricing. I suppose I'll start with him and work something out.

    Thanks!

Maybe that's why the promotional gen 3 is blue.
