Paint the drums asap. You won't wear them out

Idk man. I'm at 108700 miles and I adjust them, but 2 weeks later they weaken. I may need new shoes and spring stuff.

    Shoes and a spring kit.

According to the guy with over 350,000 miles, he didn't replace his drums until way past 200k

Yeah you just clean and scuff the drums. They last forever. Thats why toyota doesn't put disc brakes on these trucks and drums are stupid easy to work on

I wouldn't call them stupid easy. I hate working in drums as well. Never got them right the first time.

This is what I expect haha. I'll look at some diys and pop the drum. Then probably have mechanic do it.

Drums are easy peasy. Just do one side at a time so you know how it goes back together.

Hardest part is literally the removal of the drums. I do it with puller bolts

I don't doubt I can handle it. Just had never seen it done. As long as there's a video or something I won't have any trouble. I learn fast
I already took them apart before, just haven't messed with the springs yet

Lol! Have you seen the price of diesel these days?!?! I love my Cummins just as much as the next guy but when it's almost cheaper to drive a supercharged v8 than it is to drive the diesel I have to wonder. Now days driving my Cummins is reserved for pulling things that probably shouldn't be moved in the first place.
