Do you have the link to that thread? I've even considered just the UCON but that would not satisfy my craving for F/I.

Wouldn't a turbo theoretically give better results? If your past the factory warranty there's not much of an advantage of the SC imo.

I'm looking for low cost, low maintenance, long lasting.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Build a new motor if you're so worried about it. Do it. :p That truck of yours deserves it.

If your looking for a little extra power for quick bursts, I've used Nitrous for 2 years on my car. Tore down the motor to check it, looked in good shape and then turbo'd it. The 4.0L could easily handle a 75hp shot. Around $5-750 for a wet kit, easy to install, cheap to fill the bottle. It's a ton of fun but gets addictive.

I think it's worth it if you can find a good deal on a used unit. I wouldn't pay full retail though. I think that is way over priced, but just my opinion. I've built both S/C and Turbo'd vehicles and I rather go turbo any day. More power produced for the money spent. It is more involved though with the tapping of the oil pan for oil return and piping if you go intercooled.

The Goodyear Gator Poly V Supercharger belt P/N 4050705 and some ACDelco S/C oil are on order, as well as a syringe - for the time when I need to service the S/C. I'm also considering the newer coupler from ZZ Performance!

Quite honestly, it doesn't do as much for the 4.0 Taco as it does for other engines. I have a lot of fun with mine, and I don't regret it. That said, it is only a 63hp increase. I believe that the 5.7l Tundra gets 105hp from its lower priced SC. I wouldn't feel any reservations about the 14mpg if it was coming from a 505hp Tundra as it shot past a Raptor.

I bought a 2.7 Access Cab Automatic and at the time didnt care about lack of power but now I want more and dont want to trade trucks. I hear the URD supercharger for the 2.7 is sick but would it perform well on an automatic?
