Trans cooler ?

I have a 2011 prerunner non towing package and have a quick question. I'm thinking about adding a trans cooler and while under the truck I see two lines attached to the side of the trans going to the front of the engine? Do all automatic's have some sort of cooler?

Well the I think the radiator pre heats the trans fluid... If you are doing more than getting groceries add a trans cooler... you what to keep the trans temp below 170, towing or off roading can get up to 250 really easy.... Keeping the trans at a lower temp will save your fluid and your trans....

 

Radiator cools the tranny fluid. Separate trans cooler adds cooling capacity.
