I have a 220 in the garage but would rather trust Brent to this. I think someone makes pre-made plates to weld in but not sure.

Just found this “Tidewater”tread. Wow…64034 posts. Nice to see so many Tacomas in the area.

Would appreciate some feedback from local wheelers.

Replacing the Dueler REVO IIs on my ’04 DC (see pic). Truck is used to haul toys (mountain bikes, kayaks, and a motorcycle trailer). Probably going with Dura Tracs. Need help deciding size. Want the slightly taller/skinner look.

If I go with Dura Trac 265/75 x 16, can I eliminate the probable tire rub by installing bilstien 5100s up front...using stock springs and shock on middle clip?

    Thanks

    Bob

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Joe's Cap City military hwy and little creek Blvd. It's kind of tucked in and best to get to from little creek Blvd even though it is on military hwy.

Thanks Phil. I'll check them out. I know TAC down in Moyock is also an A.R.E. dealer and it looks like Leonard on S. Military Hwy is the closest Leer dealer. Guess I'll be doing some shopping.

Barcelona I think. At first I thought it was AaronArf and was going to have to hunt the guy down and shoot his ass for stealing the truck but it wasn't.

Yeah I bet it's the one she's been seeing.

As far as I know the only local Barcelona was Jay and the guy who had the DB lifted one after he sunk his other tacoma in a frozen lake.

Probably get by with a 2'x2' square piece of 14 or 16 gauge steel. Template out with cardboard... Prepare to do some hammer forming if you intend to do it in a single piece.
Recommend using .025 welding wire, using a short (< 1/2") stitching technique as to not warp parent metal.
Also get some automotive seam sealer from NAPA to seal it up inside and out when your done.

I went down to Truck Accessory Center in Moyock and Leonard's to get pricing today. I wasn't impressed with TAC. While it looks like they have a lot of stuff, the two people I talked to didn't seem to know much about truck caps. I felt like I knew more just from researching the A.R.E. website. They were not very helpful.

Leonard's on the other hand were awesome. Knew answers to all my questions, cool to talk to, and made sure I knew to check the Leer website for coupons. TAC never mentioned coupons on the A.R.E. site but I know they're there. TAC also wanted to charge me for an LED light inside the cap I was considering even though it comes standard. Either they didn't know or were trying to rip me off. Either way, TAC is out of the picture for me.

I'll stop at Joe's Cap City next week when they're open.
