The mods should really consider making a 2nd gen Colorado section... In the past few months I almost forget that this is a Tacoma enthusiast site.

Yes, exactly. The Duramax in the Colorado was confirmed by GM when they announced the new twins.

Sorry, I should of said they will likely confirm power numbers on the Diesel engine when they give us an exact date on availability .

You'd have to live under a rock to not know GM is bringing a Diesel to the market if you're on this forum at all.

Don't they shoot people in Kansas for using the words "like" and "totally" together in that manner?

    Be careful...sarcasm can be dangerous!!

I once suffered diabetes (for 20 minutes) in NC once. I drank a glass of iced tea. I could see sounds.

the 4.0 taco will blow a 4.0 ranger away no questions about it. the 4.0 ranger was about as quick as a 3.4 taco.

Wow, you guys are not going to let it go that I liked my Ranger eh :p.

Yes I get that it was smaller and not as fast, but for all intensive purposes it did everything I needed it too on road and off. The truck was smaller and lighter than my current Tacoma and felt similar enough. That Ranger was something well built and there's a reason that a lot of them are still running around.

If you have a problem with that you need to turn down the fanboy inside.

I should of traded in my wife then instead of the Ranger :D. I just had a 4.0 L Sport 4x4 auto. It had a six CD changer in it because of the weird way Ford optioned them out. It was all the truck I needed for the odd logging road and some field scouting.

Nice! I lost all of my pictures of mine when the ex-wife took off. I had some good times with that truck. I remember we had a record rainfall in 4 hours once that flooded all the streets here. In places the water was pouring over peoples basement foundation and right into there basement. I had to get to work so I took my Ranger stock through a hundred foot stretch of about 3 solid feet of water. It ended up dying. I was not very mechanically inclined at the time so I pushed it out (it nearly made it on it's own) and started it back up. I didn't pull the plugs or nothing. I did pull the air filter, which is why your story reminds me of this. It misfired a couple of times and threw a check engine but it ran fine after a minute and got me home. I kept it for 2 years after that too with no issues. I know the guy who has it now and it's still running with no issues.

The Ranger was one tough little truck. I can't remember the exact model year of the one I had but it was around 2007 and I bought it right off the truck that brought it in.

Funny I work in a big complex and was walking on break this week several times.
S 10's have been out of production for years.....
The old Colorado was out for a few...
The Rangers gone for several also...

Yet walking around there were more s10 then the curren Taco
There were almost two to one rangers to taco
and there were the same number on Colorado's as taco.

I see from the GMC website there still is no info on curb weight, ground clearance, approach/departure/breakover angles.

I see this review from Edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/gmc/canyon/2015/?tab-id=reviews-tab#overview-pod-anchor

It says "modest ground clearance". If that is the case I can pretty much guarantee the twins won't sell well in the state of Colorado. Couple "modest ground clearance" with the inboard mounted rear shocks and it's not going to be able to meet offroaders expectations.

    Mutt. :D

Bilstein so much liked the Baja suspension that they developed partnering with TRD they brought out their own version of it - the Bilstein 6112.

I see the same thing here in Jackson, MI. S10s still reign supreme (by the numbers) and there are still quite a few Rangers rolling around. We even have a pretty high concentration of Frontiers because of a lack of a toyota dealership in 30 miles which means literally the only brand midsize truck you could pick up was a Frontier for quite a while. Even when Colorados were in production though the local Chevy dealer didn't stock them

Well you were saying it was on par with the Tacoma and 10k cheaper, but you didn't factor all the thing the Tacoma can do and the ranger can't. When you look at that list its obvious that it would be cheaper. I mean first off the Tacoma is just bigger in general, so ya its going to be more money.

Let the your a fanboy comments fly away...cause I honestly don't care...
