I searched for marathons and only found this thread. I was wondering if there's anybody here that runs marathons and knows where I could search for marathons in the fall of 2010.

I haven't had much luck on RunnersWorld or Active.com.

I'm running the Mercedes 1/2 Marathon here in Birmingham in February, but I'd like to continue my training and run a full marathon next. If I wait for the same race in Birmingham again it'll be February 2011 before I run one, so I'm expanding my search.

I know there is one in Huntsville, AL in November 2010, which isn't terrible, but I was hoping to find one in September or October of 2010. Anybody in AL, GA, north FL, MS or TN know of a full marathon in that timeframe?

how funny. i was going to add the ironman triathlon. it's more challenging bc it's run, bike and swim. i have a friend who competes in it and trains for it all the time.

    good luck!

I'm glad you caught that. I didn't want to be mean to somebody who was trying to help, but I wanted to point out that I'd already tried.

Thanks for posting, all. FWIW, I've made a plan to run in a few 5 & 10Ks in the upcoming months, then the Mercedes 1/2 marathon in February, then eventually the Rocket City Marathon in November of next year. (That's the one in Huntsville I mentioned in my first post.) I stopped looking for one in the summer b/c I realized how much it would suck to run 26 miles in the Alabama summer heat, so that's why nobody has scheduled one.

I put together a training calendar and I'll be putting in over 1,600 miles during the training and races! Wish me luck!

I know i am bringing this one back to life but there is no other thread about it.

i am starting to get into distance running, planning on doing a few 5 and 10ks when i get back home and my neighbor has been asking me to train with him for triathlons so i will be doing that when i get home also. Anyone else into distance running?

i'm starting to get into "running for fun"

i used to run a bunch in special tactics... but that was because i had to, not because i wanted to lol

i'm signed up for a half marathon in september and i'm doing the USMC marathon in DC this october along with a few other "miliatry" style challenge events

Just ran a 5k today in my VFFs. First time running a race in them and first time doing a 5k in a long long time. Finished just under 22 minutes so im not too disappointed.
