You know, you've got a point. haha

I've heard Citra is good, but never had it. I'd like to compare it to something, but all the really hoppy stuff that I've had/like is pretty local to me so I'd be surprised if you've had them lol

I am a fan of hops though. I'll have to give it a shot if I can find it!

I've had Anderson Valley's Boont Amber and their IPA. both which are awesome.. The store by my office has the triple but its almost $14 a bottle. worth it?

Citra is tricky to land. Kern does a lottery every few months, alot of people enter, if you win the lottery then you can go to the brewery and buy 6 bottles. I just happen to have some good hookups on the west coast. I dont think i have tried any VA stuff. The shape of hops to come from PA, or on the wings of armegedon out of DC are the stand out IPAs i have tried in your general area. Sometimes or most of the time the local unheard of nano-brewerys make the best beer.

Ah. Probably why I've never seen it around. Haha on the wings of Armageddon is pretty good. Actually pretty much all DC Brau is pretty good. Haha I was thinking more Of the local micro brews like A Tell Tale Heart IPA from the Baltimore-Washington Beer Works, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon (although they might not be considered local or microbrew anymore..), Three Brothers Hoptimization, Parkway Brewing Get Bent Mountain IPA, Devils Backbone 8-Point IPA, and a few others. And Dogfish 60 minute and Flying Dog raging bitch are always solid go-to's. The DC/MD/VA area actually has a ton of solid breweries, most just aren't big name with the exception of flying dog, heavy seas, and DuClaw.

Side note: Have you ever had the Skunk Black IPA from Three Heads Brewing in NY? I had it once on tap about 3 years ago and it was awesome, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere since. I don't remember where exactly but I want to say it's upstate NY. You're up that way so I didn't know. Haha

Finally! 16 months after I started, I have bottle conditioned cider and it's awesome. Been sitting racked for over a year, finally bottled 2 gallons 6 weeks ago and it worked. It's pretty good stuff if I do say so myself!

Three Heads is out of Rochester. They do bottle thier beers, but I'm not sure how widely they distribute. I haven't had the Skunk Black, but I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
