Would you trade in your second gen for a 2015 Ford F-150?

Serious question? I'm thinking about it. They look awesome and dem features doe! I know this is a Tacoma forum but I just wanted to start a discussion.

 

If it was a straight up trade, sure.

 

Honestly, I've thought about it. I won't, but the fact that it's crossed my mind makes me sad.

 

I wouldn't. I work at a ford dealership and I get to play with all the new toys. They may seem fine and dandy but you cannot beat the quality of a Toyota.

they are nice, expensive to repair based on a emunds video that demonstrated their repair bill for the new trucks compared to the old one.

 

I would if the MPG of a F150 gets closer to the taco. The Taco is so behind in comfort and it's not even funny.

 

I turned a 93 ford xlt access cab around in a very shallow ditch and the whole cab warped and the doors poped open and would not shut until I shimmed them 1/2 " to get them to shut again. I swore off ford at that moment.

 

i do have to say though... that twin turbo 3.5L is sexy!

If it was a straight up trade for their 4x4 then yes and then I would sell the Ford for more than my Tacoma was worth and buy my Tacoma back keeping the difference. One reason I even looked at the Tacoma was it offered a standard shift which Ford does not. Or If Ford returns the Ranger with a standard and 4x4 my Tacoma will be gone.

 

Ditto. Love some of the new Tundras i have seen out there, and have no desire for a 150 anyway.

That said, i bought my Taco because i loved what it had, and that feeling hasn't changed. If it dies/gets in an accident/etc, i might look for something bigger, but not itching to..

Nope, too damn big. The main reason I bought my Tacoma was because of its size and the fact that it didn't feel like I was driving a barge. If I was in the market for a full size, then yes, I would buy a Ford without any hesitation. I had a 97 F-150 and it was a great truck.
