Good Evening TW. I have a '05 RC 4x4. I have been thinking of making some upgrades to my Tacoma. I have read on here about many different lifts and shock upgrades but most of the information in for extended cab etc.

I was thinking of installing Bilstein 5100's on the from and rear. Has anyone used OME coils in the front with these? Or OME and a different combo up front? I am planning on putting a winch and bumper on the front I didn't know if the stock coils could hold up to a 110lb bumper + winch (trail gear tube bumper is planned) since it is a RC. I also plan on sliders and a gas tank skid. Trying to keep the weight down on the mods but with it being a stick I don't think its as annoying to drive as an auto.

I was also thinking of using Ride Rite in the back because I go on long trips and cary a lot of extra weight in gear. I also have a camper shell on the back all the time.

So please share pictures and your shock coil combo's. Thanks

If you're dead set on OME for the coils, you need the 886's for a plate bumper and winch. They add a ridiculous amount of weight to the front of the truck compared to the stock 'bumper' that they replace.

I tried 887's with just a plate bumper, no winch, and I had problems until I upgraded to a stiffer spring.

Not dead set on anything. I am looking for combo's that people are using on the RC's.

I put OME 884s with 5100s at 0 on my 2014 Reg Cab 4x4. I got a full 3" of lift, but I don't have any aftermarket weight on the truck.

886 Would be an awful stiff spring for a reg cab and the TG bumper isn't real heavy

If 884s give 3" stock, then they should work for you Sam. Get the spacers to add if desired height isn't reached.
