The only thing 'obvious' here is your lack of knowledge regarding modern 'automatic' transmissions. A "true enthusiast" would covet just about any dual clutch automatic with manual mode over a clutched manual. Mostly because your lap times would likely be better as the dual clutch will shift not just faster than the manual but a lot faster. While you may prefer a manual, a driver interested in going the fastest would opt for the dual clutch auto.

 

Being an enthusiast isnt about speed. It's about the experience.

Example being a coffee enthusiast is t about how jacked the coffee can get you.

Being all about speeds means you are happy being the 1 minute wonder in bed.
