Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
This is Fern. We hated the name, but it has since grown on us. She is a 14 month old lab/pointer mix. Possibly a little APBT too. Ordered a DNA test to see, out of curiosity. She is our attempt at moving on since we lost our boxer last fall. Overall very cute, behaved and a sweet girl, although our cat would beg to differ. Each day seems to get better. Crossing our fingers and working with her, to make it work.

Beautiful pointer squeaky! I miss the bird hunting in Wisconsin. What part of the state are you in? Whispering emerald ridge is a nice farm, as well as big rock if your centrally located in the state. Nothing beats some wild grouse though!

Yea Justin, the lost littermates is no fun but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Crate is going well Ian, he loves being in it so it's making our job a little easier.

That's funny, cause sometimes I see that in her eyes, and other times they look soft and sweet. I think she'll be a little trouble, curious, but we have a good feeling about her.

Its the big day for my guy! 1 yr old! Going to get his party hat in a few, then we will go for a walk to play some fetch with the chuck-it I got him on Friday. I am ordering a DNA test to see if it shows anything that might have caused the longer hair or if he's actually a catahoula ha. And lastly I'll be taking him to murdochs to get some bones and a toy for the house.

At least Fern has an animal friend in the house. Whether they like each other or not it's always seemed to me it helps when there is more than just one.

Thanks! I'm from the southern part of the state, so roosters are the primary local quarry. I don't do much game farm hunting, mostly after wild birds. I do a little grouse hunting, but it's getting to be less and less....dang wolves are taking over the grouse woods. I prefer big going dogs, so wolves are a big concern of mine. My favorite hunting is out west, Montana, Dakotas, Oregon. Big country where you can let the dogs roll! I've heard there are some pockets of decent chukar hunting in WY. True?

Congrats and great looking dawg Marc!!

Nice pointer, I tried a rescue ES for a few months this year but was a big runner 400+ yards and on grouse up on the North Shore was too much. But was even harder with the wind in SD this year, he bumped a lot of birds going out I ended up returning him he is now in Minot, ND found a good home. Still have a Garmin Alpha I bought for him and will keep it for my flusher but likely will never need the GPS on it LOL. Yeah I know real bird dogs point and toilets flush but after 30 years of flushing dogs it is too hard for me to go back to pointers.

North Shore has lots of wolves and few times I have had to use juice on my dog is when a pack howls and the Toller wants to run off and "play" with them. But very few ticks compared to rest of Mn. and Wi. Not sure which is worse all of my dogs have had Lyme from damn ticks. I do use game farms for training purposes including pigeons.

Either of you guys on Upland Journal?

Made a lot of friends there and hookups for hunting all over the place. We have has a regional get together once a year for the last 5 years this will be the 6th. Started at Caribou Gun Club in Mn. then 3 years at WEU and last year at Wild Wings in Wi. Likely back there this year still not sure. People come from Pa. to ND and of course those from Wyoming are welcome too. We spend the weekend (looks like June 12,13 this year) shooting clays

and of course shooting the chit and dogs. I am the chief cook and bottle washer, be glad to cook a steak for you!

There might be some alcohol involved after shooting
