Nice 2 day collection there Mark!
Nothing much to report here but I swear I heard a Robin singing this morning! We usually don't see/hear from them until late March or early April.

Oh, and there was a Swainson's hawk hanging out on a traffic light in town the other day. Didn't see him until the last second, plus we have a cell phone ban in town so no pics. Not sure if he was just taking a rest there or if he was hunting in a nearby field and that was the closest/highest perch he could find.

Great job Mark! Glad to see your still getting out while all the birds are down there :)

Rochester, MN. I can get you on Bald Eagles but that is about all that is exciting and left this time of year. Imagine you have plenty of them where your at though! I would like to get out and hunt down a Golden Eagle or Snowy but my youngest son is very sick right now and I'm tied up most all the time that. But be glad to help if I can.

Took the dogs out this morning and caught this guy across the ravine in the front yard

-2 F is the high today and windy so he was pretty puffed up. I think Cooper's based on size but looking at Mark's picture of a Cooper above not so sure. I do have another hawk that is smaller with a short square tail that hangs out in the hedges out front that I believe is a sharp shinned and pretty sure this one is larger. Both take song birds on a regular basis but trying to get a picture is always very difficult.

On my drive yesterday I was on the lookout for eagles and hawks and while I did see a few there was nothing to get a good photograph of. Then when I was least expecting it I ran into a whole flock of cedar waxwings! I had my little lens on the camera and by the time I had run back to the rig and changed lenses most of them had flown off :frusty:

Cedars are one of my very favorites. I only see them in passing through here. But they are just so neat!!

I love them too - they're kinda plain looking at first but very pretty. Their little zorro masks are cool too. And they're so noisy! I heard them long before I saw them yesterday.

    Thanks!

I wish I'd had my other body. One time spray and pray would have been helpful-they flip the fish up and down the hatch about that quick. Very cool to see:cool:

That is a bit of good news!

Speaking of that, they still haven't figured out what or where the spooge that coated so many birds recently came from. The good news is a great number of the rescued birds have been released to the wild.

Glad the birdies are recovering! Have there been more rescues or has the mystery goo gone away?

I know what happened, just wondering if the problem has passed or if the birds are still being affected
