Love the tires. They're my second set. They weren't the problem on Valentine's Day ...

I was merging onto I95 and had it in 4x4 as the ramp was hard pack. The highway itself was plowed pretty good, so I dropped it back into 2-wheel drive and she went sideways. Thankful I was running less than 20 mph. I steered into it, but the highway was a downhill and she went sideways, then backwards. I slid her into the snow bank as I was worried about other cars, obviously, and when she hit, she rolled. The whole thing happened in slow motion.

My wife was a good sport about it. We high fived after crawling out the window.

I'm really hoping she starts. I love that truck. If the engine is good, I think I'm gonna get glass panels, off road bumpers, and then Rhino line the outside black---cap and all ... Making lemonade, you know?

Wow, well glad you're both okay and probably wearing seatbelts. I have been leaving mine in 4H even with all the sandbags in back. Got to what I thought was clear enough roads last week and bumped it back to 2H and spun out going 35. That was on the rugged fails though.

Sounds like one should never switch down to 2WD while in motion on snow/ice. Must be like slamming momentarily on the brakes.

I'm going to guess the LSD or locker, which ever he has, spun him once he got back on the power

Yeah, I think the power cut and it was like the wheels locked, as it was over black ice, and she went sideways ...

My whole life I've been driving in this mess, and I never run full-time in 4x4, but now I'm going to rethink that strategy. If we were going 65 or 70, and didn't have the belts on like someone said, it would have been ugly.

It was upside down with the lights on, keys in, etc., for about 10 minutes. I got my brain back just before the Staties arrived and crawled back in, put it in park, pulled the keys ... So the engine was running upside down i.e. without oil until it shut itself down.

Anyone have experience with upside down engines? Am I fu-cocked here?

The open diff in the non-TRD you mean?

I always use 4x4 now. I had a similar experience with mine but luckily there was a guard rail and not a ditch so I kept the rubber down. Since then when I run 4x4 unless the roads are 100% snow-free
