I am so glad I learned to take care of myself and never depend on anybody at an early age...I know the value of the dollar (which isn't much) but everything I have i have worked hard for and appreciate.

Sorry to change the subject on whatever I missed ^^^^ lol but thought I would post a small frustrated update on my situation regarding my truck that I had to tow down to Mountain States Toyota Friday since my dealership in Nebraska told me there was nothing wrong....

So Friday noon I dropped of the truck, and Friday night they called me telling me they seen it was misfiring on computer but could not locate where exactly or why due to "only" happening when engine temps were cold. They said they would get on it early this morning and keep me updated. It is 1230 so I called to check on it, and apparently Toyota Tech has been making the techs at the dealership chasing their tails and has them checking all the vacuum lines to the supercharger for leaks. He told me there was no resolution in sight at the moment but again would keep me updated. I told them Friday I needed to be on the road by Monday after noon at latest back to Nebraska for work... they have yet to give me solution to loan a vehicle and as most of you know, the roads are not the greatest here... I worry they are going to call me at closing time and tell me still no idea what is wrong and the rental shops will be closed. Toyota HQ has yet to return my phone call from Friday in reference to the loaner vehicle situation. This is my first truck in 12 years with a warranty, and so far I am beyond dissatisfied with customer service.... so that concludes my rant at the moment, I apologize for bitching so much but glad your eyes can suffer through it lol.

 

I was too busy installing part of my "tax return gifts" to myself... took a break waiting on my amp to show so I can put my seats back in...

figures we'd have 70* weather for the week... then a nice long weekend and 3"+ of snow...

 

Damn... sorry to hear that... I'd be pressing the dealership's management... that's ridiculous...

 

Sorry about your situation man. While I don't have anything that will help you, I will say that I've run in to similar situations. I've had warranty stuff taken care of when it was obvious (something flat out didn't function) but for things were you have poor or partial performance it seems like their favorite phrase is "It's normal"

Are they even acknowledging that the SC is making a horrendous sound?

 

The service adviser said he has installed 100's of SC's and said it is normal, because of their style. "normal" to sound loud and make those knocking sounds. That's when I dropped it off and showed him the video of it.

 

I must say that in my experience I've always been responsible for a rental if needed. If itwas mine, I would leave it until it was correct find myself a rental and then go about getting reimbursement for expenses I incurred.

 

I also hve not read the terms of the warranty

 

I'm considering putting a s/c on my 4Runner this year, so I've been following this thread as much as I can, but may have missed some details. Does your s/c have a TRD or URD 7th injector?

 

You have a 3.4 there are really no issues. Most of the issues with toyota and the supercharger has to do with the 4.0. I have the Trd charger in my basement just haven't put it on.
