Nope, I have to have it gone through and a bracket fixed on it. Not really on my radar at the moment with the wife not working much with school.

 

I spent 9 straight hours insulating my crawl space.

 

OP set up a "go fund me" account asking to help fund a solid axle swap. Put the donation cap at 25k. Mods were pointing out what a fart face he was for doing so and he didn't understand why.

 

I used to frequent Adventure Rider... (a motorcycle forum for adventure touring) and would watch people try to get others to fund their trips... they'd be the guys with brand new bikes, $5,000 in photography equipment, and every farkle (term used for mod/accessory/tool) in the touratech catalog (like ARB for motorcyles)

 

Great Forum, I've never seen that happen but I have seen instances where people were on a round the world trip and other members came through and helped out. Pretty neat really.

The I read some of the other comments from the link before they were deleted... guy was a tool.

Yeah I've seen that as well... thank god those are more common! The stories from that forum are AMAZING... the Striking Viking, the Afganastan trip, BAM trip, it's been a dream of mine to ride around the world... that forum is like crack for that dream... but I've stopped riding for the time being... just need to step a way...

 

I hadn't seen his rig... but I love that he acted like your dad's rig wouldn't keep up with his long travel

 

I agree That forum is addicting. I sold my Husaberg 570 Last year to fund my move to Colorado, hoping to saddle up again this spring.

 

I had a DRZ400s I sold after I bought my 650 Dakar... realized I loved the DRZ so much more... the Dakar is a PIG... but in 3 years I've owned it... I've only put 10,000 miles on it... and 7000 of that was on the trip I took to buy it!... the DRZ I put 24,000 on it in 11 months... 15 months of not being able to sit still for very long after LOL

 

I had a Dakar they are Pigs. I didn't last long with mine.
Bought a Dakar Solid it, bought a R1200GSA, Too Big but loved it for on road. Sold it and Bought a KTM 950 Super Enduro, loved the bike but wanted something lighter, went to the Husaberg 570 and loved it. Didn't like the size of the tank or lack of fuel options. I loved the Fuel injection though. Thinking my next ride will be a KTM 350 EXC or a KTM 500.

If I can find a nicely used one and I'm sure I can. I"ve stayed away from the bikes for sale until I'm ready... definitely got the itch.

I dig the DRZ's 400's though. May buy one of those for the interim.

I want the KTM 690 next... just don't know when that'll be... I'm selling my Dakar this spring/summer... when ever I get around to putting the fairings back on and replacing the headlight housing (broke in a move)... been delaying it for a year and a half... don't want to be bikeless... even if I haven't ridden in over a year

 

The motion light on the garage turned on right as I took it. But still sexy. The rock lights come in handy having to park so close to the rocks every night.

 

The 690 is a great all around bike but still heavy. Much better than a dry 650 or a dakar though. I'd buy one. Still leaning to the smaller bike. I'll just carry less

 

Yeah, well it's actually lighter than the DRZ... but I SUCK off road... 0 skill... and honestly... with 5 concussions in my history... and the last heavy off roading I did... I was areovac'd out of Big Bend State Park because of a concussion... I'll stick to forest service roads... and I can take a Dakar on those easy...

I just want to see the world... Ulanbataar... Magadan... Ushuia... those are my bucket list big tickets
